From Caterpillars to Hawk Moths: A Special Goodbye 🐛🦋

Our class pet caterpillars have completed an amazing transformation! Over the past few weeks, we watched with curiosity and excitement as it grew, formed a cocoon, and patiently rested inside. This week, something magical happened—it emerged as beautiful hawk moths!

One of our students noticed that the moth was moving its wings vigorously, indicating that it was ready to fly. Together, we gently carried our special friends outside. With a little flutter, the hawk moths spread their wings and took off into the sky.

The children were filled with joy (and a little sadness) as they waved goodbye. It was a wonderful learning experience about growth, change, and caring for living things. Just like our caterpillars, we are also growing and learning every day.

Meet Our New Class Plant: Nobi-Nobi Kun! 🌱🐛

After saying goodbye to our hawk moth, our class welcomed a new living friend—Nobi-Nobi Kun! The seeds came packed in a fun caterpillar-shaped net, and we were so excited to begin caring for them.

On the first day, we soaked Nobi-Nobi Kun in water and gave it a good spray the next day to keep it nice and damp. Every day, the children take turns making sure our little caterpillar plant is well cared for.

We also started the “My Nobi-Nobi Kun Plant Diary,” where each child records observations from Day 1 until the plant grows. Since we don’t know what kind of plant is inside, it feels like a big surprise waiting to be revealed!

The children are full of curiosity and can’t wait to see what sprouts out of Nobi-Nobi Kun. Will it be flowers? Vegetables? Maybe something totally unexpected? 🌸🥬🌻 Stay tuned—our green adventure has just begun!
