A family bucket list promotes family bonding, encourages cooperation through shared decision-making, creates lasting memories by highlighting shared joy and experiences, and motivates members to achieve goals together. 

As part of our line of inquiry 3, we had a family bucket list activity where each family listed the things they want to achieve over the next year. It’s good to know what they are looking forward to achieving as a family and to practice what we are learning in our unit of inquiry. Thank you for sharing!

This week, we had our reflection on our performances at the Sports Festival. They drew what their favorite part of the event was, which learner profile traits they used, and how they executed them during the event.

JAPANESE LESSON

Since last week, we have started practicing hiragana that include the “musubi” (a loop), such as ma, ha, and ho. The children worked in pairs to find many examples of ha and ho in picture books, and then discussed the differences between the two letters before practicing writing them in their workbooks. They noticed details like, “The top line of ha sticks out, but ho doesn’t,” and “The left side looks the same,” showing careful observation and discovery.

Recently, we have also been practicing how to say the days of the week. The children enjoyed singing the “One Week Song” with dance moves. Since Rainforest kids love dancing, they quickly mastered the choreography!

GYM lesson

The Sports Festival is over, and this week we were back to our regular gym lessons. The children looked so relaxed and happy as they moved their bodies. After stretching and a fun game of tag, everyone got a ball to play with. They challenged themselves to catch it with their elbows, tummy, back, or even their bottoms, and also tried rolling it over their body to catch it with their feet. Some tricks were a bit tricky, but they all gave it a go with big smiles!
