NEW THEME & UOI
This week was an introduction to a new theme and unit – How We Express Ourselves: FEELINGS. We had a gallery walk of unit related books and pictures. There were photographs of Canyon & ISN in past activities and events. What were you doing? How did you feel? Look at your faces! Can you guess what we are going to learn?

LITERACY & NUMERACY
We started singing a new morning circle song. It included emotion words and how we feel. (Lyrics: Hello! Hello! Hello, how are you? I’m good! I’m great! I’m wonderful! I’m tired. I’m hungry. I’m not so good.) We made an Alphabet Frieze with letters card A to Z, and we counted them… 26! We presented the Alphabet Dance to some visitors who came to the classroom. Canyon enjoyed it and so did the visitors! We reviewed number sequence 1 to 10 with the missing numbers game. Where is 2? Where is 8?

OUTDOOR WALK & SCHOOLYARD PLAY
The cooler weather meant that we could go out for longer walks around the neighbourhood. We spotted pink cosmos flowers and onions in the nearby farm. We only saw the green shoots, so I asked the class where the onions were? Someone called out ‘in the ground’. Yes, just like the sweet potatoes we dug up! Good thinking.
With Health & Sports Day round the corner, go get healthy and play! For a start, try dancing to this Halloween song. ‘Hallowen Stomp’ will be our dance song for the upcoming ISN Halloween Party. Till next week, have a wonderful long weekend!
