It was a short week, but wow — we still managed to pack in so much fun and learning!
💃 On Tuesday, we had our dance class! We’re learning a beautiful routine to “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid — it’s absolutely adorable! We’re also working hard on our Ghostbusters dance for Halloween, complete with some brand-new spooky moves. The children have been practicing with so much energy and excitement — we can already tell it’s going to be a fantastic performance! 👻🎶

💃 火曜日はダンスクラスがありました！『リトル・マーメイド』の「アンダー・ザ・シー」に合わせて素敵な振り付けを練習中——とっても可愛らしいです！ハロウィンに向けて『ゴーストバスターズ』のダンスも頑張っています。新開発の不気味な動きも加わって、子どもたちは元気いっぱいに練習に励んでいます——きっと素晴らしいパフォーマンスになること間違いなしです！👻🎶
🪅 Speaking of Halloween… we also started our piñata!
Some of us weren’t quite sure what a piñata was at first, so we learned all about it. Piñatas come from Mexico and have been part of celebrations and festivals for hundreds of years. They’re colorful paper decorations shaped like animals, stars, or even favorite characters — but they’re not just for looking at… they’re for smashing open!
🪅 ハロウィンといえば…ピニャータ作りも始めました！
最初はピニャータが何かよくわからなかった子もいたので、詳しく調べました。ピニャータはメキシコ発祥で、何百年も前からお祭りや祝祭に欠かせない存在です。動物や星、お気に入りのキャラクターの形をしたカラフルな紙の飾りですが…ただ眺めるだけじゃなく、叩き割るのが目的なんです！
Inside are lots of surprises — candies, small toys, or confetti! During a celebration, children take turns hitting the piñata (sometimes blindfolded!) until it bursts open and all the treats spill out everywhere. 🍬🎁 Everyone laughs, cheers, and scrambles to collect the goodies. It’s such a joyful tradition that children all over the world — especially in South America — love to play! 🌎
中にはたくさんのサプライズが詰まっています——キャンディ、小さなおもちゃ、紙吹雪など！お祝いの席では、子どもたちが順番にピニャータを叩きます（時には目隠しをして！）。ピニャータが割れて中身が飛び散ると、みんな笑い声をあげ、歓声を上げ、お菓子の争奪戦が始まります。🍬🎁 世界中の子どもたち——特に南米では——この楽しい伝統遊びが大好きです！🌎
✏️ In phonics, we’ve been busy learning letter formation and reading and writing CVC words (like cat, dog, sun). The children are doing so well and are starting to move on to CCVC and CVCC words too (like stop or hand).

✨ Tip for Tricky Words (also called Red Words):
Write tricky words on small pieces of paper and stick them around the house — even on the back of the toilet door! Have your child read them each time they pass by.
