ACTING OUT OUR FEELINGS- Rainforest Nov. 10th-14th

This school year, ISN will participate in the Christmas Tree Decoration Contest, and it has been such a wonderful experience for our little ones. Through this activity, they get to express their creativity and teamwork while making various ornaments inspired by our theme, “International Mindedness.” It’s truly heartwarming to see the children enthusiastically working together, carefully crafting decorations that represent different countries and cultures. Watching their excitement and effort as they help make our class Christmas tree beautiful and full of life is a joyful reminder of the spirit of the season.

In our UOI lesson, we are now exploring our Line of Inquiry 2, which focuses on feelings and ideas expressed through storytelling. This week, we watched a short story that highlighted the theme of kindness. Together, we discussed the feelings of each character and the different ideas expressed in the story. We also connected the lesson to our Winter Show practice, where the children identified and expressed the emotions of the characters in the story we created. It was wonderful to see how they applied what they learned and showed a deeper understanding of how feelings can be expressed through stories and performances.

For further learning and a deeper understanding of the topic, we invited a guest speaker who is one of our parents and a professional stage actress. She facilitated a drama and expression workshop where our young learners explored different emotions and practiced expressing them through simple performances. The children enjoyed the interactive activities and gained valuable insight into how feelings can be portrayed on stage.

Have a happy and restful weekend, everyone!
