Hi everyone! Welcome to our third blog of the month. We moved on to the third and final line of inquiry of our transdisciplinary theme; “There are many ways of telling a story.” The students watched the teachers role-play working as a team to make paper puppets and creating a story thereafter. They talked about what might happen in the story and the potential characters. After everyone had understood what the task was, they started enthusiastically discussing and planning with their partners. When everyone was satisfed with the direction their stories would go, they then made paper puppets that would bring their stories to life.

Below are pictures of them telling their stories with their paper puppets.

Last week’s rice ball party was a success! We all enjoyed eating tasty rice balls we made by ourselves. This whole experience taught us to appreciate the hard work rice farmers do to put rice our tables. From planting the rice and harvesting it in hot weather to this final event.

For workstations we focused on reviewing the content we have covered in UOI so far. They did story sequencing activities and had to narrate the story from their own perspectives. They also sorted pictures based on the element of a story they belonged to(characters, settings, conflict and solution).

Decorating our Christmas tree was fun for us all. The students all expressed their ideas and feelings through the colorful and artistic ornaments they made. We hope that when they go to view other schools’ trees next week, they can fully realize that people really an express themselves in different ways.

~The week ahead~
We will continue exploring different ways of storytelling alongside preparing for the Christmas show.
Thank you for reading our blog! Have a nice weekend.
