Hello wonderful parents and friends,
We had beautiful weather this week, and we spent most of our days playing outside. The children enjoyed moving their bodies by running around and chasing each other to keep warm.
みなさんこんにちは！今週はよい天気に恵まれ、ほぼ毎日外遊びを楽しめました。子どもたちは体を動かして走り回ったり追いかけっこをしたりして、体を温めながら楽しんでいました。
During half of our mornings, we practiced for the Christmas Show. Our students were very engaged and excited, and they continue to make great progress as they prepare for their performance.
午前中の半分はクリスマスショーの練習を頑張りました。オーロラさんたちは真剣に、そしてワクワクしながら、本番に向けて着実に上達していきました！
Rainbow Breathing
We also practiced Rainbow Breathing so that when children feel sad, angry, or upset, they can use it by themselves to feel better. By tracing the arrow, they practiced breathing in slowly through their nose and blowing out gently through their mouth, helping their bodies and minds calm down and feel peaceful.
探究の活動で紹介したレインボー呼吸法の練習もしました。子どもたちが悲しい、怒っている、動揺していると感じた時に、自分で使って気分を落ち着かせられるようにするものです。矢印を指でなぞりながら、鼻からゆっくり息を吸い込み、口からそっと吐き出す練習をしました。これにより心身が落ち着き、穏やかな気持ちになれるのです👍
Christmas Show Day
All the students arrived in the dressing room cheerful and proud, especially because they didn’t cry when saying goodbye to their families. We then began getting ready for the Opening Number, and the children waited patiently, full of excitement. They couldn’t wait to perform on stage and show their families all the hard work they had practiced. Once on stage, they truly shone! Each child put in their best effort, smiled, and enjoyed every moment of performing in front of everyone. It was such a joyful and proud day for all of them!
We are so proud of you, our dear students! Your hard work and effort during practice helped you shine on stage, and you all did an amazing job!
オーロラさんたちはみんな、笑顔で誇らしげに楽屋に到着しました。お家の人とバイバイするときに泣かなかったことも特に嬉しかったようです。すぐにオープニングソングの準備を始めると、子どもたちはワクワクしながらもしっかり待つことができました。ステージでお家の方々に練習の成果を披露するのが待ちきれない様子でした。オープニングソングの次はいよいよ劇の発表。いざステージに立つと、みんな本当に輝いていました！一人ひとりが精一杯の力を出し、笑顔で、皆の前で演じる一瞬一瞬を楽しんでいました！みんなにとって、最高の喜びと誇りに満ちた一日となりました✨！
大好きなオーロラさんたち、みんなを心から誇りに思います！練習での努力と頑張りがステージでの輝きにつながり、みんな本当によくがんばりました！！
Unannounced Earthquake drill
We did an unannounced earthquake drill at school. When the office staff rang the bell, students calmly and quietly followed instructions to hide under the tables. Afterward, we safely evacuated to the parking area. Ms. Taeko led the drill, and together we reviewed the rules for what to do during an earthquake. The children did a wonderful job recalling O-HA-SHI-MO while evacuating. We are so proud of how focused and responsible they were!
地震を想定した避難訓練を行いました。事前に伝えることなく行うものでした。事務室の職員がベルを鳴らすと、子どもたちは落ち着いて静かに指示に従い、テーブルの下に避難することができました。揺れが収まったらすぐに帽子を被り、駐車場へ安全に避難しました。Taeko先生と一緒に地震の時の行動ルールをみんなで確認しました。しっかり「お・は・し・も」を思い出して実践していた子どもたち、素晴らしかったです。集中力と責任感に満ちた姿を、私たちは大変誇りに思います！
Draw your memories in Christmas Show
We congratulated the students for doing a wonderful job on stage yesterday. As we recalled our memories, the children were asked the students to draw pictures about the event. Some students shared how they felt while performing in front of their families. Many happily said, “I’m happy!” while others shared that they felt “nervous and excited!” It was lovely to hear their thoughts and see their special moments captured in their drawings.
昨日、ステージで素晴らしい劇を披露したみんなと一緒に喜びを分かち合い、思い出を振り返りながら絵を描きました。お家の人の前で演技した時の「嬉しい！」という気持ちや、「緊張したけどワクワクした！」と話す子もいました。子どもたちの思いを聞き、絵に描かれた特別な瞬間を見ることができて、とても素敵でした♡
