Learning, Performances, and Gratitude
This term, our class has been exploring the unit “Media and Its Influence on Society.” Through this unit, students learned about different types of media and how they can influence how we think, feel, and understand the world around us. These ideas came to life as students planned, discussed, created, and collaborated in preparation for Performance Day.
This week, as part of our reflection, we revisited our Wonder Wall questions. Students looked back at the questions they had at the beginning of the unit and discussed how their thinking had changed, what they had learned, and which questions they are still curious about. This reflection helped students see their own growth and deepen their understanding of the unit.
I am incredibly proud of how hard each student worked throughout this process. Performance Day was not just about being on stage—it was about growth, confidence, and taking ownership of learning. Seeing the students present their work with courage and pride was truly special.
Finally, I would like to sincerely thank all parents and guardians for your continued support, especially during Performance Day. Your encouragement, presence, and trust mean a great deal to both the students and staff.
今学期、クラスではユニット「メディアと社会への影響」に取り組んできました。このユニットを通して、子どもたちはさまざまなメディアの種類や、メディアが私たちの考え方や感じ方にどのような影響を与えるのかについて学びました。そして、その学びはパフォーマンスデイに向けた話し合いや計画、制作、協力活動を通して深まっていきました。
今週は振り返りの一環として、**ワンダーウォール（疑問ボード）**の質問を見直しました。ユニットの最初に持っていた疑問と比べながら、「何が分かったか」「考え方がどう変わったか」「まだ気になっていることは何か」を話し合いました。自分たちの成長を実感し、学びを深める大切な時間となりました。
この一連の活動を通して、子どもたち一人ひとりが本当によく頑張っていたことを、私はとても誇りに思っています。パフォーマンスデイは、ただ舞台に立つだけの行事ではなく、成長や自信、そして学びに対する責任感を育む大切な機会でした。
また、特にパフォーマンスデイにおいて、保護者の皆さまからの温かいご支援とご協力に心より感謝申し上げます。皆さまの応援と信頼が、子どもたちの大きな力となっています。
Puppet Show Visit
This week, we also enjoyed a special puppet show performance at school. The students were fully engaged from start to finish, reacting with laughter, curiosity, and excitement as the story unfolded. It was wonderful to see how naturally they followed the characters and storyline.
The puppet show connected beautifully to our current unit, reminding us that storytelling and performance are also powerful forms of media. Through voice, movement, and expression, the performers were able to communicate ideas and emotions in a way that immediately captured the students’ attention. It was a joyful and memorable experience for everyone.
今週は、学校で**パペットショー（人形劇）**の特別公演も行われました。子どもたちは最初から最後までとても集中して観ており、笑ったり驚いたりしながら、物語を楽しんでいました。登場人物やストーリーを自然に理解し、夢中になっている様子がとても印象的でした。
このパペットショーは、現在学習しているユニットとも深くつながっています。物語やパフォーマンスもまた、感情や考えを伝える大切なメディアの一つです。声や動き、表現を通して伝えられるメッセージに、子どもたちは強く引き込まれていました。とても楽しく、心に残る時間となりました。
