“We kicked off the week with a joyful birthday celebration for our January celebrants. All classes gathered in the music room, where we began by singing the birthday song together. The students had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed Ms. Taeko’s fun activity called “Fukuwarai.” Laughter and excitement filled the room as the birthday celebrants helped doing the activity.
こんにちは！今週は1月生まれのお友達の楽しいお誕生日会から始まりました。全クラスがMusic roomへ集合。みんなでお誕生日の歌を歌った後、Ms.Taekoと一緒にお正月の遊び「福笑い」を楽しみました！お誕生日のお友達がみんなの前で福笑いに挑戦。見ているお友達からもワ―！キャー！と、たくさんの笑い声が。とても楽しいパーティーとなりました！お誕生日おめでとう🎂
A freezing Fun day in the park
It snowed this week, giving us a wonderful opportunity to visit the park. Our students were thrilled as they changed into their ski wear and prepared for the adventure. On our way to the park, the children excitedly spotted different kinds of transportation along the way.
Once we arrived, the students couldn’t wait to touch and play with the snow. Although there wasn’t enough snow to build a snowman, the children had fun having snowball fights and making small snowmen by gathering the snow around them. They kept themselves warm by chasing one another and racing around the park. Even though the weather was freezing, the students returned to school happy, energized, and warmly bundled up.
今週はみんなが楽しみにしていた雪が！早速雪遊びの服を着て公園へ出かけました😊冒険の準備にみんな大興奮。公園へ向かうバスの中から、子どもたちはいろいろな乗り物をワクワクしながら見つけていました。踏切でバスが止まると、これから来る電車はLocal train？ Azusa? or Freight train?と予想し、目の前をAzusaが通り過ぎると歓声が起きました！笑
公園に着くと、子どもたちは待ってましたと言わんばかりに走り出し、雪に触れて遊んでいました。大きな雪だるまを作るにはちょっと雪が足りませんでしたが、小さなボールを作って雪合戦をしたり、雪をかき集めて小さな雪だるまを作ったりして楽しみました。公園中を追いかけっこしたり走り回ったりして体はぽかぽかに。外は凍えるような寒さでしたが、しっかり防寒してスクールに戻ってきました👍雪遊びグッズのご用意ありがとうございました！チャンスがあればまたいっぱい遊びたいと思います。来週からもまた持たせてください✨
Show and Tell
We held a Transportation Show and Tell activity, and families kindly helped by providing transportation-themed items from home. After learning about the features of different types of transportation, the students were able to describe the toys, books, and pictures they brought with them.
Each student named their transportation and talked about its features, such as windows, tires, wings, speed, size, and color. The students proudly presented in front of their friends and spoke with growing confidence. They used simple phrases like, “This is a car. It has tires. It can run,” and “This is an airplane. It has wings. It can fly.”
Well done, Aurora! We are so proud of our young presenters and their wonderful efforts.
交通機関をテーマにShow＆Tellを始めています。お家から交通機関に関係するものを持ってきて、子どもたちが発表しています。こちらもご協力ありがとうございます！色々な交通機関の特徴を学んだ後、子どもたちはお家から持ってきたおもちゃや絵本、写真について説明することができました。
今週発表してくれたお友達は、自分の持ってきたものの名前、窓の数、タイヤの数、翼の数、速さ、大きさや色などの特徴について話してくれました。「これは車です。タイヤがあります。走れます。」や「これは飛行機です。翼があります。飛べます。」といった簡単な表現を使って説明しました。お友達の前で自信を持って話す姿が見られました✨

Workstation
The students enjoy the transportation workstation each morning after unpacking their belongings. Through hands-on exploration, they engage in inquiry-based learning while practicing numbers, alphabets, and shapes. The activities also help enhance their fine motor skills as they trace and draw different types of transportation.
毎朝荷物の整理をした後、ワークステーションを楽しんでいます。実践的な探求を通じて、数字、アルファベット、形を練習しながら取り組んでいます。探求の活動のテーマTransportationに関連したものもあります。色々なtransportationの絵をなぞったり描いたりする活動は、細かい運動技能の向上にも役立っています！ワークステーションに継続的に取り組むためにも、毎日9時までに登園をお願いします😊
Time In- Name tracing practice
We started practicing name tracing every day after the students unpack their belongings. Through this activity, the students are learning to recognize both uppercase and lowercase letters in their names while also enhancing their fine motor skills.
朝の時間、ワークステーションと並行して、毎日名前をなぞる練習を始めました。この活動を通じて、子どもたちは自分の名前にある大文字と小文字の両方を認識する方法を学びながら、細かい運動能力も高めています👍
Loiterer drill
This week, we practiced a loiterer drill in the classroom to help students understand how to stay safe. The office staff informed the classes that there was a loiterer outside the building. Following instructions, we locked the door, closed the windows, turned off the lights, and gathered the children quietly in one corner of the room.
Most of the students listened carefully and followed the instructions very well. After we were informed that the loiterer had left, we sat down together and discussed safety rules. We reviewed IKA NO O SU SHI and talked about what to do if a stranger approaches them. Through this drill, the students learned important steps to help keep themselves safe.
今週は不審者対応の避難訓練がありました。近くに不審者がいるとの連絡を受け、ドアをロックし、窓とカーテンを閉め、明かりを消して子どもたちは静かに教室の一角に集まりました。
ほとんどの子が注意深く指示を聞き、とてもよく従っていました。不審者が立ち去ったとの連絡を受けた後、みんなで安全ルールについて話し合いました。「知らない人に近づかれたらどうするか」について話し合い、「いかのおすし」のルールを確認しました。この訓練を通じて、こどもたちは自身の安全を守るための重要な約束を学びました。
