PYP Project!

Get ready, because something BIG and exciting has been happening in Grade 5 and 6! Our students have been busy working on their PYP Exhibition, a special project where learning, creativity, and teamwork all come together. This year’s theme was “Sharing the Planet,” and wow—did the students rise to the challenge!

One of the coolest things about this project was student agency. That means the students were in charge! They chose their own topics, decided what questions to explore, and planned how to share their learning. Teachers were there to guide them, but the ideas came straight from the students themselves.

The students worked together in teams, learning how to listen, compromise, and support one another. Sometimes teamwork was tricky, but they didn’t give up. Instead, they communicated, solved problems, and learned how powerful collaboration can be when everyone plays their part.

Creativity was everywhere you looked! Some groups explored how art is used to share environmental messages, analyzing posters, paintings, and designs from around the world. Others looked closely at how food connects to lifestyle and culture, showing how what we eat can shape who we are.

Several groups focused on big global issues, like food waste. They investigated why so much food is thrown away and shared smart ideas on how families and communities can reduce waste. Their solutions were thoughtful, practical, and inspiring!

Another group took on the important topic of endangered animals 🐼. They researched why certain animals are at risk and what humans can do to protect them. Their passion for wildlife really showed, and they helped everyone understand why sharing the planet means caring for all living things.

Some students even went a step further by raising funds for WWF 🌍. They planned, organized, and explained why supporting environmental organizations matters. This showed amazing dedication and a strong sense of responsibility toward the planet.

Throughout the project, students demonstrated so many IB Learner Profile attributes. They were inquirers asking deep questions, communicators sharing ideas clearly, thinkers solving problems, and caring individuals who want to make the world a better place.

The exhibition wasn’t just about showing what they know—it was about showing who they are as learners. The dedication, effort, and excitement the students brought to their projects made the entire experience truly special.
