At the beginning of this new month, we also began our new unit, “Basic Materials Around Us.” In this unit, we aim to explore and inquire about our surroundings to discover the different materials around us. We started by activating our prior knowledge and took a walk around the school to identify materials such as wood, metal, fabric, and plastic that exist in our classroom environment. After that, we used our Wonder Wall to ask questions and guide our further exploration.

今月の始まりとともに、新しいユニット「身の回りの基本的な材料」をスタートしました。このユニットでは、身の回りの環境を探究し、どのような材料が使われているのかを見つけていくことを目標としています。まずは事前知識を確認し、校内を歩きながら、教室の中にある木、金属、布、プラスチックなどの材料を探しました。その後、ワンダーウォールを使って質問を出し合い、さらに探究を深めました。

We also had the opportunity to play in the snow together with both upper and lower grade students. During our outdoor time, we continued discovering different materials and their characteristics, such as hard, soft, smooth, and rough.

また、上級生と下級生と一緒に雪遊びをする機会もありました。屋外でも材料を見つけながら、「かたい」「やわらかい」「つるつる」「ざらざら」などの特徴について発見することができました。
