This week in Rainforest was another purposeful one! 今週のRainforestクラスも、学びの多い充実した一週間となりました！
From our experience at Gojo Elementary School last week, the whole class was inspired to become more responsible in taking care of their classroom. They are all very excited to go to elementary school, so they wanted to start practicing as early as now. The children took the initiative to sweep the floor, wash the towels, return materials to their proper places, and help keep our classroom clean and organized. We were very proud of them and happy to see clear evidence of strong self-management skills, as well as the learner profile attributes of being Principled and Balanced. 先週のGojo Elementary Schoolでの体験を通して、子どもたちは「自分たちの教室をもっと大切にしよう」という気持ちを持つようになりました。みんな小学校へ進学することをとても楽しみにしており、「今から練習したい！」という声も聞かれました。
子どもたちは自ら進んで床を掃いたり、タオルを洗ったり、使った教材を元の場所に戻したりしながら、教室をきれいで整った環境に保つために協力していました。
私たちは、子どもたちの成長した姿をとても誇りに思っています。また、自己管理能力（Self-Management Skills）の高まりや、IB学習者像である「Principled（信念をもつ人）」や「Balanced（バランスのとれた人）」の姿が見られたことを大変嬉しく思います。
For our Phonics lesson, the children practiced their research skills in a fun and engaging way. Although we were studying sounds, we tried a different approach where the students were challenged to discover the magic behind Magic e. They carefully sounded out each letter and read the words before adding the letter e at the end. Some children immediately understood the concept, while others discovered it after several rounds of changing and reading the word cards. Throughout the activity, the children remained engaged, curious, and determined. Their excitement and sense of accomplishment were evident as they uncovered the “magic” of Magic e! フォニックスのレッスンでは、子どもたちが楽しみながらリサーチスキルを発揮する活動に取り組みました。
今回は音の学習をしながらも、少し違ったアプローチを取り入れ、「Magic e」の秘密を自分たちで発見するチャレンジを行いました。子どもたちは一文字ずつ丁寧に音を確認しながら単語を読み、その後、単語の最後に「e」を加えてどのような変化が起こるのかを調べました。
すぐにルールに気付く子もいれば、何度か単語カードを読み替えながら試行錯誤し、少しずつ発見していく子もいました。活動を通して、子どもたちは終始興味を持って取り組み、好奇心を働かせながら粘り強く考える姿が見られました。
そして、「Magic e」の不思議な力を発見した瞬間には、子どもたちの嬉しそうな表情や達成感に満ちた様子がたくさん見られました！
We also had a guest teacher from Gojo this week. Rainforest students had another opportunity to practice their English-speaking skills while having fun dancing to the ABC Charades Song. The children thoroughly enjoyed the activity and were excited to interact with a new teacher. We are happy to share that Mr. Josh will be visiting us again in July for another fun bonding experience with the children. 今週は、Gojoからゲストティーチャーをお迎えしました。
Rainforestクラスの子どもたちは、「ABC Charades Song」に合わせて楽しく体を動かしながら、英語でコミュニケーションを取る機会を持つことができました。子どもたちは活動をとても楽しみ、新しい先生との交流にも大喜びでした。
楽しく学びながら英語を使う経験を通して、子どもたちは自信を持ってコミュニケーションを取る姿を見せてくれました。
また、嬉しいことに、Mr. Joshが7月にも再び来てくださる予定です。子どもたちは次回の交流を今からとても楽しみにしています！
This week was indeed memorable, engaging, and filled with meaningful learning experiences. We are proud of how the children continue to grow as independent learners, caring classmates, and responsible members of our classroom community. 今週も、思い出に残る楽しい活動と、たくさんの学びにあふれた充実した一週間となりました。
子どもたちが、自ら考えて行動する学習者として、思いやりのあるクラスメイトとして、そしてクラスコミュニティの一員として責任を持って行動する姿を見せてくれていることを、私たちはとても誇りに思っています。
これからも子どもたち一人ひとりの成長を大切にしながら、学ぶことの楽しさを感じられる環境をつくっていきたいと思います。
