This week in our English lesson, we learned about active listening. The purpose of this activity was to help us communicate our ideas clearly and respectfully. We practiced making eye contact, speaking confidently, and listening carefully to one another. Afterward, we reflected on what makes a good listener and shared ideas on how we can improve our listening skills.

今週の英語の授業では、「アクティブリスニング（積極的な聞き方）」について学びました。この活動の目的は、自分の考えを相手に分かりやすく伝え、相手の話をしっかりと聞く力を育てることです。子どもたちは、お互いにアイコンタクトをしながら話したり、相手の話をよく聞いたりする練習をしました。その後、「良い聞き手になるためには何ができるか」について振り返り、意見を出し合いました。

We also began our debate unit this week. Students were divided into either the Proposition or Opposition team based on a given statement. Through debating, students worked collaboratively with their teammates, explored different perspectives, and further developed their listening, speaking, and critical thinking skills.

また、今週からディベート（討論）の学習も始まりました。子どもたちは、お題に対して「賛成（Proposition）」または「反対（Opposition）」のチームに分かれ、それぞれの立場から意見を考え、発表しました。この活動を通して、チームで協力する力を育むとともに、さまざまな視点や考え方に触れ、聞く力・話す力・考える力を伸ばしました。

This week, we were also honored to attend a special performance by local musicians at Hublic. The event celebrated the birthdays of our June celebrants, and everyone enjoyed the wonderful performance while celebrating together as a school community.

さらに今週は、Hublicで開催された地元の音楽家による特別な演奏会に参加しました。この演奏会は、6月生まれのお友だちのお誕生日をお祝いするイベントとして行われ、子どもたちは素敵な演奏を楽しみながら、学校全体でお祝いする温かい時間を過ごしました。
