This week, the Rainforest class continued explore and deepening their understanding of how communication and teamwork help people achieve a common goal.
今週、Rainforestクラスでは、コミュニケーションとチームワークが共通の目標を達成するためにどのように役立つのかについて、探究をさらに深めました。
We were fortunate to welcome two special guest speakers—one of our Rainforest mothers who works in the medical field and another who works in a pharmacy. They shared how teamwork plays an essential role in their daily work and introduced the children to the different roles and responsibilities within their teams.
Our medical guest helped the children discover that every team member has an important responsibility. Through a simple demonstration, the students observed that when one team member is missing, it becomes much more difficult for the entire team to work effectively. This helped them understand that every role is valuable and contributes to achieving a common goal.
今週は、Rainforestクラスの保護者の方お二人をゲストスピーカーとしてお迎えすることができました。お一人は医療分野で、もうお一人は薬局でお仕事をされています。お二人は、それぞれの職場でチームワークが日々の業務においていかに重要な役割を果たしているかを子どもたちにお話くださり、チームの中でそれぞれのメンバーが担う役割や責任についても紹介してくださいました。
Our pharmacy guest also shared a simple teamwork checklist that professionals use every day. The children learned that good teamwork includes saying “Thank you,” asking “Please help me,” and confidently saying, “I don’t know. Can you help me?” or “Can you check this for me?” They discovered that asking for help and showing appreciation are important communication skills that help teams work successfully together.
また、薬局で働くゲストスピーカーの方は、実際に職場で毎日活用されているシンプルな「チームワークチェックリスト」も紹介してくださいました。
子どもたちは、良いチームワークには「ありがとう」と感謝の気持ちを伝えること、「手伝ってください」と助けを求めること、そして「わかりません。教えてください。」「これで合っていますか？確認してもらえますか？」と自信を持って伝えることが大切であることを学びました。
また、助けを求めることや感謝の気持ちを伝えることは、チームで協力して目標を達成するために欠かせないコミュニケーションスキルであることにも気付くことができました。
As we moved into our second Line of Inquiry, we began exploring the idea of conflict. The children worked in teams to create short skits showing different situations. Their classmates carefully observed each performance, discussed whether it showed a conflict or not, and explained the clues that helped them make their decisions. Through these conversations, the children began to recognize that conflicts can happen in any team and that effective communication plays an important role in solving them.
2つ目の探究の柱（Line of Inquiry 2）では、**「対立（Conflict）」**についての学びを始めました。
子どもたちはグループごとに、さまざまな場面をテーマにした短いロールプレイを行いました。発表を見ていた子どもたちは、それぞれの場面が「対立」であるかどうかを考え、そのように判断した理由や手がかりについて話し合いました。
こうした活動を通して、子どもたちは対立はどのようなチームでも起こり得ること、そして対立を解決するためには、効果的なコミュニケーションが重要な役割を果たすことに気付き始めています。
To end the week, the Rainforest class joined our friends from the Savanna Class for a fun water play at the park. While cooling off from the summer heat, the children continued to demonstrate teamwork by helping one another, playing and enjoying the experience together. It was a wonderful reminder that teamwork is not only important in the classroom—it also helps us learn, play, and create joyful memories with others.
週の締めくくりには、Savannaクラスのお友だちと一緒に公園で水遊びを楽しみました。夏の暑さの中で涼みながら、子どもたちはお互いに助け合い、一緒に遊び、楽しい時間を共有することで、チームワークを発揮する姿がたくさん見られました。
この活動を通して、チームワークは教室での学びだけでなく、遊びやさまざまな経験を共有し、友だちと楽しい思い出をつくる上でも大切であることを改めて感じることができました。
