This week, Milky Way continued exploring different ways of telling stories. We started practicing for our Christmas Show, learned about puppets, and finished our Halloween crafts!
今週のMilky Wayでは、物語を伝えるさまざまな方法について学びを深めました。クリスマスショーの練習が始まり、人形劇について学んだほか、ハロウィンの制作活動も完成しました！
Our Christmas Show Practice Begins!
We officially started practicing for our Christmas Show, where we will perform The Bremen Town Musicians!
Each student received their own script and highlighted their lines to help them find and recognize their parts. We began reading and practicing together, taking our first steps towards bringing the story to life on stage.
What has been especially wonderful to see is the students’ motivation and excitement! Many of them have been choosing to practice their lines and pianica every day, even during their free time. They have been working hard to improve and are already showing so much pride in their progress. It is lovely to see how excited everyone is about the Christmas Show, and we are only at the beginning! There is so much more to look forward to as our performance gradually comes together.
今週から、クリスマスショーに向けて『ブレーメンの音楽隊』の劇の練習が本格的に始まりました！
一人ひとりに台本を配り、自分のセリフを見つけやすいようにマーカーで色をつけました。そして、みんなで台本を読みながら、少しずつ練習を始めました。
特にうれしく感じているのは、子どもたちの意欲とワクワクした様子です！自由時間にも自分からセリフやピアニカの練習をする姿が毎日のように見られます。上達しようと一生懸命取り組み、自分たちの成長にも自信を持ち始めています。まだ練習が始まったばかりですが、すでにクリスマスショーをとても楽しみにしている様子が伝わってきます。これから少しずつ劇が完成していくのが、ますます楽しみです！
Exploring Storytelling Through Puppets
In UOI, we explored another way people can tell stories: puppet shows!
We started by looking at different types of puppets and discussing how they can be used to tell a story. The students thought about what makes a puppet show different from reading a book. How can a puppet show that it is happy, sad, scared, or excited? How can movement and different voices help the audience understand the story?
After our discussion, we had the opportunity to watch a real puppet show! This gave the students a chance to see how performers use puppets, voices, and movement to bring characters and stories to life.
Afterwards, we reflected on what we had seen and discussed how the performers helped us understand the story and the characters’ feelings. We also connected our observations to our own Christmas Show, thinking about how we can use our voices, movements, and expressions to make our performance more interesting for the audience.
UOIでは、物語を伝えるもう一つの方法として、人形劇（Puppet Show）について学びました！
まず、さまざまな種類の人形を見ながら、人形を使ってどのように物語を伝えられるのかを考えました。また、本を読むことと人形劇にはどんな違いがあるのかについても話し合いました。「人形がうれしいときや悲しいときはどう表現する？」「声や動きを変えることで、見ている人に気持ちを伝えられるかな？」など、さまざまな問いについて考えました。
その後、実際に人形劇を鑑賞しました！演じる人たちが人形の動きや声を工夫しながら、登場人物や物語を生き生きと表現する様子を見ることができました。
鑑賞後は、人形劇を振り返り、演じる人たちがどのように物語や登場人物の気持ちを伝えていたのかについて話し合いました。また、今回学んだことを自分たちのクリスマスショーにもつなげ、声や動き、表情を使って、見ている人に物語をより楽しく伝える方法について考えました。
Finishing Our Halloween Trick-or-Treat Bags!
This week, we also finished making our Halloween Trick-or-Treat bags!
After creating the shapes using papier-mâché last week, the students were free to decorate their bags however they wanted. Everyone had the opportunity to use their imagination and make something unique, choosing their own designs and adding their personal touches.
It was wonderful to see all the different ideas and creativity in the classroom. Even though everyone started with the same project, each bag turned out differently! We can’t wait to use them at our Halloween Party!
今週は、ハロウィンのトリック・オア・トリート用バッグも完成しました！
先週、張り子（ペーパーマッシュ）で形を作ったバッグに、今週は自由に飾り付けをしました。子どもたちは自分の好きなデザインを考え、想像力を働かせながら、それぞれオリジナルのバッグを作りました。
同じ制作活動からスタートしても、完成したバッグは一つひとつ違い、子どもたちの個性やアイデアがたくさん詰まった作品になりました！ハロウィンパーティーで使うのが今から楽しみです！
