🌞2025 Summer School🌞 Noodle Slides, Shining Rocks and a goodbye to Summer School

Week 2 – Friday

Hi everyone, and there it is… the last day of Summer School.

What a ride it’s been! We had so many lovely students join us from outside of ISN, so many amazing activities, and so many lovely new connections were made between students. For all the parents/guardians who decided on ISN to send their child to the Summer School, thank you so much. We loved having your child(ren) join us! We hope your child(ren) brought back amazing memories and exciting stories.

For the last day, we had planned for a refreshing day, first… a somen slider! And after that, a soapy waterslide!
Students helped pick tomatoes that had been growing on our grounds, after which they cut them into pieces. Students also helped with the preparation of the somen noodles and the cucumber. Once our teachers had prepared the somen slider, and the students had changed into their swim gear, we got ready for a good munch! Of course, most students waited at the top of the slide and chopstick battled each other for the best spot to grab the most noodles! We started with a good amount of noodles, after which we had a healthy dose of tomatoes and cucumbers descend down the slide. Once all students had swapped their positions and their bellies were (almost) full… the final treat came down the slide, jellies! All kinds of flavors, students tried to catch one and enjoyed a refreshing bite after their noodles.

Once all students had their bellies filled and had taken a moment of rest, they got ready to slide off the, now soapy, slide. While most students gave it a try, some were in for more exciting action and grabbed some water guns to chase each other around the school grounds. After a good amount of playtime, students got ready to go inside and finish the last day together, talking about when they’d meet again.

The upper grades, in the meantime, also enjoyed a special outdoor session. Students found rocks and brought them back to the classroom, where they painted them to look like something that they liked.
After finishing their projects, students got together in their classrooms and said their goodbyes and “hopeful see you’s” to each other!

This year’s Summer School was a big success, and we really enjoyed having your children join us. We hope to see everyone next year again!
