This week was full of creativity, exploration, and teamwork as our young learners engaged in a variety of exciting activities. From practicing for our Christmas Show to observing how seeds grow, the children embraced each day with curiosity and enthusiasm. Here’s a look at what we’ve been learning and enjoying together:

今週は、創造力、探検心、そしてチームワークがあふれる一週間となりました。クリスマスショーの練習から種の成長観察まで、子どもたちは毎日を好奇心と意欲いっぱいに過ごしました。ここでは、私たちが一緒に学び、楽しんだことを振り返ります。

Shooting Star students continued practicing every morning for our upcoming Christmas Show. They enjoyed singing, dancing, and working together to make the performance shine. The children also helped paint Christmas show props such as trees, houses, and shops—adding bright colors and lots of imagination to our stage decorations. We could truly feel Christmas coming in our classroom! To bring even more festive cheer, the students made their own Christmas wreaths by cutting green paper pieces and gluing them around a paper-plate ring. They also had a lot of fun folding Santa origami, showing great focus and creativity. They also helped Mr. Igor decorate the Christmas tree at the entrance. Each child hung Christmas ornaments on the tree, adding their own special touch to make it even more beautiful.

Shooting Starの子どもたちは、クリスマスショーに向けた練習を続けています。歌ったり踊ったりしながら、みんなで協力して素敵な発表にしようと頑張っています。また、クリスマスショーの小道具作りもみんなで協力し、木や家、お店などを絵の具で色鮮やかに仕上げ、たくさんの想像力をステージ装飾に加えてくれました。お部屋にはクリスマスの雰囲気が一気に広がりました！

さらに、より華やかな季節感を出すために、子どもたちは紙皿を土台にして、緑の紙を切って貼り付け、自分だけのクリスマスリースを作りました。サンタの折り紙にも挑戦し、集中力と創造力を発揮してとても楽しんでいました。

また、SSさんたちはMr.Igorと一緒に、エントランスのクリスマスツリーの飾り付けも行いました。一人ひとりがオーナメントを飾り、自分だけの特別な彩りを加えて、より素敵なツリーに仕上げました。

In UOI, the children returned to the seeds they planted 10 days ago and closely observed the changes. They compared growth, discussed what plants need in order to live, and wrote their observations on sticky notes so we could see how everyone’s plants are developing differently.

UOIの時間には、子どもたちは10日前に植えた種を観察し、どのように変化しているかをじっくり見ました。成長の違いを比べたり、植物が生きるために必要なものについて話し合ったりしました。また、自分の観察したことを付せんに書き、みんなの植物がどのように違って育っているかを確認できるようにしました。

This week in writing, we practiced the lowercase letter t. Students worked carefully, showing excellent focus and effort. Everyone did a great job and proudly shared their work with friends.

We couldn’t play outside in the last days because of the bear roaming around the town. To make sure everyone stayed safe while still having fun, we created an obstacle course inside the classroom using tunnels made from tables, bridges, and hoops. The children loved moving their bodies in this new indoor setup—crawling through the tunnels, walking carefully across the bridges, and hopping through the hoops. It was a wonderful way for everyone to stay active, engaged, and safe.

今週のライティングでは、小文字の t の練習をしました。子どもたちはとても丁寧に、集中して取り組みました。みんなとても上手に書けて、できあがった作品を友だち同士で誇らしげに見せ合っていました。

ここ数日、近隣でクマの目撃情報があったため外で遊ぶことができませんでした。そこで、安全を確保しつつ楽しく過ごせるよう、教室内にテーブルで作ったトンネルや橋、フープを使って障害物コースを作りました。子どもたちはこの新しい室内アクティビティに大喜びで、トンネルをくぐったり、橋の上を慎重に歩いたり、フープをぴょんぴょん跳んだりして体を動かしました。安全に楽しみながら活動できる、とても素敵な時間になりました。

We are getting closer to our Christmas Show, and the excitement is growing! Next week, we will continue practicing while also exploring how the children take care of the living things they have at home so they can grow and change.

クリスマスショーが近づいてきて、子どもたちのワクワクもどんどん大きくなっています！ 来週は引き続き練習をしながら、みんなが家で飼っている生き物をどのようにお世話して成長させているのかを探っていく予定です。
