It goes without saying that the highlight of our week was Wednesday’s inquiry fair held at Gojo campus. Everyone enjoyed sharing what they discovered about plants since they began their inquiry into plants’ growth in June! Thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended. They also learnt a lot from their companions from Gojo campus. Grade 4 did an ice-cream experiment and grade 6 did a volcano experiment. Everyone had fun!

This week they tried to define the meaning of the word “role” in the first line of inquiry that states that “there are roles in a team”. Someone said a role means a job. After they agreed on the definition of role, they then watched videos and tried to figure out what roles/jobs came up in the short stories. The main word that came up was LEADER. They initially said that they think a leader is someone who tells people what to do. But after delving a little deeper and role playing to drive certain points across, they came to the conclusion that a leader is someone who encourages and motivates others to reach their goals.

For phonics this week, they learned about the “oa” and “ow” vowel teams. They played spin the bottle. The person who the bottle pointed to had to read a word with the long vowel sound o in them and make a sentence using them. The learners’ vocabulary bank is getting weightier with each week that passes. Their reading is improving too thanks to these phonics lessons.

~The week ahead~
Next week, we will continue to explore the topic of roles within a team.
Enjoy your weekend!
