Play leads to learning – Rainbow 28th April -2nd May (遊びは学びに通ず) 

皆さん、こんにちは!

入園から約1か月、泣いて登園していた子も少しずつクラスに慣れ、先生やお友達の顔や名前にも親しみ始めました。お互い名前を呼んだり、自分の持ち物とお友達の持ち物を区別し、認識できるようになる日も近そうです。そんなクラスに今週、2人の男の子が新しいおともだちとして仲間入りしました!!これからは、総勢17名で、もっと楽しく、もっと賑やかなスクール生活になりそうです。

Hello everyone!

It’s been about a month since our children started school life, and even the ones who used to cry when they came to school are gradually getting used to the class and are starting to get familiar with the faces and names of their teachers and friends. It looks like they’ll soon be able to call each other by name and distinguish and recognize their own belongings from their friends’ belongings. This week, two boys joined the class as new friends! ! With a total of 17 students, school life is set to be even more fun and lively from now on.

朝夕のサークルタイムでは「色」に関する活動(学び)が続いています。思考を凝らした様々な遊びを通して、色に対する理解と関心を深め、思考力や体力をつけて欲しいと思います。「遊び」は幼少期に最も大切な活動です。子ども達は遊びから、楽しさのみならず、怪我の危険性などを学び、発見や工夫、挑戦を展開させていきます。体力をつけ、多くの発見をし、関心や興味を持つ機会を提供したり、子ども達の内から生まれる探究心をサポートしていきたいと思います。

During morning and evening circle time, we continue with color-related activities. Through various thought-provoking games, we hope to deepen the children’s understanding and interest in colors, and to develop their thinking and physical strength. “Play” is the most important activity in early childhood. Through play, children not only learn about fun, but also about the dangers of injury, and develop discoveries, ingenuity, and challenges. We want to provide opportunities for children to build up their physical strength, make many discoveries, and develop their interests and curiosity, and support the inquisitiveness that arises within them.

毎日の朝の会では、出欠を取り、その日の気持ちについて聞いています。子ども達は”I am here!” ” I am happy” などとお返事してくれます。その声も日一日と大きくなっています。その一助となるよう英語での表現方法を紹介していますが、表情や感情について、より深く理解してもらえるよう「感情パズル」を用意しました。感情の種類とその英語表現がつながった時、子ども達は発言することに自信を持ち、より大きな声で、より豊な表情で答えてくれると信じます。

At our daily morning meeting, we take attendance and ask about their feeling. Our children respond with things like “I am here!” and “I am happy.” Their voices are getting louder every day. To help with this, we introduce ways to express things in English, and we have prepared an “emotion puzzle” to help them understand facial expressions and emotions more deeply. We believe that when children are able to connect the types of emotions with their English expressions, they will have confidence in speaking up and will respond with a louder voice and a richer range of facial expressions.

母の日に向けて、クラフトで栞を作りました。春の花を摘み、子ども達はタンポポを採り新聞紙に挟み押し花を作りました。その押し花を使って花束を作り、好きな色のおはながみを選びラッピングしました。大好きなママにプレゼントすると知り、みんな真剣で一生懸命でした。

For Mother’s Day, we made bookmarks as crafts. After picking spring flowers, our children picked dandelions and pressed them in newspaper to make pressed flowers. They used the pressed flowers to make bouquets, chose their favorite color of flower paper, and wrapped them. Knowing that they were going to give them to their mothers, everyone was serious and worked hard.

また、みんなでキリンの身長計を使って身長測定をしました。1年後、再度測定し、子ども達自身が自分の成長を実感できるようにしたいと思っています。

We also used a giraffe height measuring device to measure everyone’s height. We hope to measure them again in a year so that the children can see for themselves how much they have grown.

ジムや公園では元気いっぱい、暖かな気候や自然の中で全身運動を楽しみました。

The children were full of energy at the gym and in the park, enjoying the warm weather and nature while exercising their whole bodies.

ゴールデンウイークを迎え、子ども達も家族で過ごす嬉しい時間や特別な家族イベントを予感している様子です。どうか元気で笑顔溢れる楽しい休日を過ごして下さいね。

With Golden Week upon us, it seems that children are looking forward to spending happy time with their families and special family events. I hope you all have a great holiday filled with energy and smiles.
