Hello Everyone,
Welcome to Rainbow’s first blog for the month of July.
This week, Rainbow students got more actively engaged in our circle time. They sang with big voices and loved to stand as leaders for morning circle. They got more expressive and confident to speak up using the English phrases that we learn every day. Day by day, their growth becomes so evident that somehow they could understand and follow instructions in English. Now, they can understand what it means to be principled. For Rainbow students, being principled means sitting and lining up nicely. Students who were caught demonstrating this learner profile got praised, recognized, and being rewarded with a crown. Kudos, Rainbow class!

This week, we officially started our school pool water play. Students have developed their skills of changing their clothes by themselves with a little help. To make water play fun, students decorated the pet bottle with a colored tape with their favorite sea animal inside which the teacher prepared in advance. Students enjoyed the soothing touch of water and the sensory stimulation which help them to cool down and relax while having so much fun. We also played the colorful water balloons! What made us excited of this activity was the visual appeal of the colors which gave us the chance to talk about different colors, the sensory experience of the water and the balloon, and the fun of throwing and catching.

We have been learning about insects this week. We began this topic by introducing to students the names of insects with flashcards. We also added insect activity at our workstation. Students enjoyed the insect puzzle activity and what’s more amazing was their ability to recognize and remember the insects name.

It’s also our goal that Rainbow students’ fine motor skills will be developed. With that in mind, we allowed them to use their playdough to stimulate their imagination while their fingers are working to get stronger.

We posted here some wonderful photos taken by our school’s official photographer when she visited in our class. You can see more of these photos on ISN’s Instagram.

Next week, we will stick to our topic about insect and water play activity if the weather is hot.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
