This week, we happily began Unit 4: Transportation! 🚗✈️🚢
みなさんこんにちは！今週はいよいよ最後のユニット、「Transportation（交通機関）」がスタートしました！
To start our new unit, we conducted a prior knowledge assessment to explore what our students already know about transportation. We spread out different categories of flashcards on the table, including animals, fruits, vegetables, flowers, and various types of transportation.
まずはこの交通機関について、子どもたちがどんな知識を持っているかを知るため、事前評価を行いました。テーブルの上には、動物、果物、野菜、花、そしていろいろな交通手段など、異なるカテゴリーのカードが並びました。
Students who chose the correct cards were invited to line up and proudly show their flashcards to friends who were still unsure. Those friends were given another chance to think carefully and pick a new card—and many of them got it right the second time!
「Transportation」とは何かを説明せずに、「Transportation」だと思うカードを選ぶアクティビティです。もちろん間違っていてもOK！野菜や果物、顔のパーツを選んだお友達もいます。何人かのお友達が選んだTransportationのカードを見比べて、これらに共通することってなんだろう？似ている物を選んでみようかな！と、ほとんどのお友達が2回目の挑戦でTransportationのカードを選びました！
Afterward, we had a class discussion about what transportation is. Our little learners shared wonderful ideas, saying that transportation: has wheels or wings, has a driver and helps us go to school and travel to different places and we get on on it.
そして、Transportationって何？をみんなで話し合いました。小さな探究者たちは、とても素晴らしいアイデアをシェアしてくれました。「タイヤや翼があるもの」「運転手がいる」「とても早く動く！ビューン！」「スクールに来るのに乗る」「公園に行くときに乗る！」
🌟To make learning even more fun, we sang transportation songs while doing actions, dancing, and moving all around, which filled our classroom with energy and excitement! 🎶🕺
楽しく学ぶため、振りをつけながらいろいろなTransportationの歌を歌いながら輪になって歩きました！クラスはエネルギーでいっぱいに！
The next day, we continued learning with a sorting activity. Students worked on classifying different types of transportation into Land, Water, Air, Railway, and Road categories. They used their thinking skills and teamwork, and most of them sorted the transportation correctly.
次の日には、今度は色々なTransportationを「陸上（道路/鉄道）」「水上」「空中」のカテゴリーに分けるアクティビティをしました。考える力とチームワークで、みんな大正解！

One cold day, we went to the park by bus after a long time. Our students bundled themselves up to stay warm and were full of excitement.
ある寒い日、久しぶりにバスで公園へ。子どもたちはしっかりとあたたかくし、ワクワクした気持ちでいっぱいでした。
On our way to the park, the students eagerly spotted different types of transportation on the road. They joyfully shared their observations, saying, “I can see cars! They have four tires!” “Trucks!” and “Trains!” Everyone on the bus was excited as they pointed out the transportation they saw along the way.
公園へ向かう道中、オーロラさん達はバスの中からいろいろなTransportationを見つけて大興奮で観察していました！「車だ！タイヤが4つあるよ！」「トラックだ！」「電車だ！」「自転車もTransportationだよね！」と、嬉しそうに教えてくれました。バスに乗っていたみんなで、道中で見つけたTransportationを指さしながら興奮していました😊
At the park, the children quickly warmed up by running around, sliding up and down the slide, and racing with their friends. Laughter and energy filled the playground as they enjoyed moving their bodies and playing together.
公園に着くと、子どもたちは走り回ったり、滑り台を何度も滑ったり、友達と競争したりして、すぐにポカポカになりました。体を動かして一緒に遊ぶ楽しさに、笑い声と活気でいっぱいになりました🎵
By the time we got back on the bus to return to school, the students were no longer cold—they were feeling warm and happy after all the fun! 😊
バスに乗ってスクールに戻るころにはもう寒さを感じず、楽しい時間のおかげでみんな温かくハッピーな気持ちでした！そしておなかはペコペコに！😊
Students enjoyed playing with Pokkuri!
We spent several days practicing with Pokkuri in the classroom, and everyone was very engaged. Most of the students were able to balance their bodies well and confidently walk using the curved side.
Some of the students were wonderful risk-takers, practicing again and again until they improved their skills. It was great to see their determination, balance, and growing confidence as they challenged themselves and had fun at the same time!
ポックリ遊びも始まっています☆自分の好きな色でペイントしたそれぞれのオリジナルポックリ。初めは立ち上がるのも難しかったり、なかなか一歩が出なかったりしていましたが、数日間の練習で、ほとんどのお友達がうまくバランスを取りながら歩けるようになりました！上手になるまであきらめずに繰り返し練習する姿は、素晴らしいRisk-takerでした✨平らな面を下にして歩けるようになった後は、カーブした側を使って自信を持って歩いている子もいます😊まだまだ楽しみたいと思います！

We awarded crowns to students who demonstrated the learner profile. Providing a small treat also helped motivate other students to do their best and strive to improve.
