Hello everyone!
It’s been a busy week for our Shooting Star class. Without nap time, we’ve started more reading and writing practice and have more opportunities to play outside with the extra time.
UOI and Christmas show
We discussed the elements of a story, focusing on characters and setting. The students created characters for the Christmas show using paper for the characters and decorated yogurt cups as the stands. They also drew the setting to display over their lockers.
Reading (High-frequency words)
We started reading books focusing on high-frequency words. We take turns reading the books for the teacher and then receive a stamp. Focusing on high-frequency words is important because they are the building blocks of reading and understanding language. This method helps us improve our reading skills and expand our vocabulary.
Trick-or-treat basket
The Halloween party is just around the corner, so we decided to make our trick-or-treat baskets. The kids were free to decorate their baskets however they wanted.
Halloween party dance
We’re planning to dance to the Ghostbusters theme song for the Halloween party. We always have a lot of fun dancing to it at school.
