Hello everyone!
We had a great week in Aurora and Shooting Star. We enjoyed the fantastic weather outside, started our unit of inquiry, reviewed the capital letters for shooting star, and started learning to write the uppercase letters for Aurora. We began all our regular lessons. It was great that the Shooting Star students guided and motivated the Aurora students, helping them if they were having a hard time thinking.
UOI ( Who We Are)
Central Idea - Every Family Is Unique
In our first unit, we will focus on Family. We will explore two lines of inquiry: families are alike and different in many ways, and Family members have their own roles. Through this inquiry, we hope that they will gain a deeper understanding of family, including knowing the members of their own family and identifying the number of family members they have. We want them to learn the roles and responsibilities of their family members. And we want them to explain their favorite family bonding activities.
What is family?
First, teachers showed pictures of their families and introduced each member. And asked the kids these questions:
What is family? Who are they?
How many people are there in the picture?
What do we call them?

Aurora Dance lesson
We had our very first dance lesson, and each of us was thrilled and couldn`t hold back our excitement. It was a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Music
For Aurora, we enjoyed doing various kinds of movements along with the music, and the teacher also showed us pictures of animals, which we copied.

For Shooting Star, we started using pianica and learned the basic steps.

Outside/park
We were fortunate to have brilliant weather, allowing us to play outside in the playground and park. Played various kinds of, and communicate well how to have fun together and support also those younger friends to interact into the play and had fun.

Phonics
We sang the phonics song first to familiarize ourselves with the sound of each letter. Then, review tracing the uppercase letters for the shooting star before we start learning the lowercase letters. Aurora began to trace the uppercase letters, since we had introduced them to uppercase letters when they were in Rainbow before the last school year ended. They already knew and could write it easily, but some students forgot. New students tried to familiarize themselves first with the sound of a letter and learn how to hold a pencil correctly.

Swimming Lesson
For Aurora, we were excited for our first lesson. Had so much fun riding in the bus, as you can see their faces tell a lot. Full of joy and excitement.

Thank you for your time. See you next time!
Have a great weekend!
