Hello Everyone!
Hello September! This week was our final water play /pool day, summer fun has come to an end, unfortunately last Friday we weren’t able to do it since it rained, but still everyone was so happy that we were even able to extend it a week longer than intended and make the most of the water play fun. Thank you to all the parents who tirelessly supported our activities.

Some classroom updates. This week kids eagerly started to take on classroom leadership roles. They were randomly tasked from doing Line leader, Morning circle song leader, Lunch Helper, Dance leader and or Closing song leader. Our goal is to encourage kids to actively participate in making choices and decision in their learning. Everyone experienced to either be the leader or follower while having fun. We could clearly see the growth that blossomed in them. They’ve gained confidence and Im happy to see that they’ve learned a lot of things, It’s thanks to the support and love from the parents, it’s from their peers in the class or from older kids at school as they play and socialize, and its also the exposure and experience they’ve gained beyond the classroom walls. Im so proud of them. We will continue promoting student agency in class.

Monthly Theme – Vegetables and Shapes
The theme for the month of August was Vegetables we weren’t able to learn so much about it since we focused more on playing outside and doing more of summer activities, So we would like to carry over the vegetable theme this month of September for at least 3 more days or less, then we can move to our next theme which is Shapes.
This week kids had fun sorting and identifying the yummy vegetables. We also did role playing. We pretended to make some vegetable soup, the kids had to go shopping in our pretend supermarket and buy the ingredients that our chef needed for the soup. Everyone was so helpful in finding the ingredients.
Moms and Dads, next time on your trip to the market kindly ask the kids to help pick out the fruits and or vegetables, casually ask the kids how to say it in English or you can point to the veggies and fruits and say it in English too and they would recognize it but what’s important is to just have fun with them.

Gym
This weeks gym class was filled with active play that the kids enjoyed. Everyone did lots of exercises that were helpful in building their bodies to become more strong and healthy. Kids also burned a lot of their energy that would aid in getting good sleep come nap time.

Music
During our music lesson kids had fun pretending to crawl like babies, then we pretended to walk like a grandmother or a grandfather. Funny thing was everyone was so bad at doing grandma or grandpa walk, because of course they didn’t know how it felt like to be one, but everyone tried and did their best. We also played with our favorite fruit maracas, we shook it upwards, downwards, to the sides, fast and then slow as we move to the beat around the room. Music class was so much fun.

Here are the videos we enjoyed at class. Hope you get to watch them at home.
Thank You for time. Have an amazing weekend.
