Hello everyone!
It has been another fun week in Shooting Star.
UOI
This week, we continued our learning about communities by focusing on our local area. We discussed various places in our neighborhood and city, such as parks, doctors’ clinics, dentists, and the police station.
To enhance our understanding, we used Google Maps to explore the area around our school, identifying different points of interest.
The next step was to explore the area in person, which we did! We took a long walk around ISN and talked about the different community buildings we encountered along the way. We saw a park, residential houses, a pharmacy, a clinic, a clothing shop, a drug store, and a coffee shop, among other things. The kids had a fantastic time exploring the area together!
Swimming
The kids had a great time at their swimming lesson, laughing and splashing in the pool. With every lesson, they are becoming more confident in the water. It was wonderful to see them support one another and have fun while learning together.
Letter to the police
The children were very grateful to the outstanding police force in Nagano City for apprehending a recent criminal, so they decided to write letters of appreciation. We reached out to the police department to inquire if they would accept these letters, and they responded that they would be delighted to receive them. The kids put in a lot of effort to create thoughtful letters for all the courageous men and women in the police force.
Craft
We continued our craft activities related to Setsubun. We also made paper balls that we will use to chase the demon away when it comes to our class.
