Exploring Metamorphosis and Life Cycles
This week in our inquiry lessons, we focused on metamorphosis and life cycles.
Students learned about how living things grow and change over time. We explored the life cycle of a butterfly, an example of complete metamorphosis, and compared it to that of a grasshopper, which undergoes incomplete metamorphosis. Students discussed the different stages and how the changes happen step by step.
To deepen their understanding, students created posters showing the life cycle of a butterfly and a grasshopper. They carefully labeled each stage and worked to clearly show the differences between the two processes. It was great to see their understanding grow as they organized the information visually.
We also spent time deciding on our final project for this unit. Students shared ideas, discussed possibilities, and began planning what they would like to create to show their learning. There is a lot of excitement as we move toward the final stage of this unit.
今週の探究の時間では、「変態」とライフサイクルについて学びました。
生き物がどのように成長し、変化していくのかを学びました。チョウの完全変態と、バッタの不完全変態を比べながら、それぞれの成長の段階について考えました。どのように少しずつ姿が変わっていくのかを話し合いました。
理解を深めるために、チョウとバッタのライフサイクルポスターを作りました。それぞれの段階を丁寧に書き込み、二つの違いが分かるようにまとめました。視覚的に整理することで、学びをさらに深めることができました。
また、このユニットの最後のプロジェクトについても話し合いを行いました。アイデアを出し合い、どのように学びを表現するかを考え始めています。これからの活動がとても楽しみです。
End of Year Celebration
We had a special end-of-year celebration this week.
In the morning, we enjoyed a fun Kahoot quiz. The questions included things we have learned throughout the year as well as some fun trivia. Students were excited, competitive, and cheering each other on.
After the quiz, we watched a movie together while enjoying delicious snacks brought from home. It was a relaxed and joyful way to celebrate all the hard work and memories we have made so far this year.
Even though we still have two more weeks left, it was a wonderful way to pause, reflect, and celebrate together.
今週は、年度末のお祝いを行いました。
朝は、楽しいKahootクイズをしました。今年一年で学んだことや、トリビア問題もあり、とても盛り上がりました。子どもたちは楽しみながら参加していました。
クイズの後は、家から持ってきたおやつを食べながら映画を見ました。リラックスした雰囲気の中で、これまでの頑張りをみんなでお祝いしました。
まだあと2週間ありますが、これまでの学びを振り返り、みんなで楽しい時間を過ごす素敵な機会となりました。
