[envira-gallery id=”8591″]Rainforest class has been learning about what things sink and what things float as part of our Unit of Inquiry on Who We Are. The children made predictions (guessed) about what kinds of things would float.
We discovered that small things like a 500 yen coin could sink, while large things like a drink bottle could float. Students also made their own boats out of foil and we put them in water, adding a tube of glue one by one to see how strong their boats were. Yuna’s boat was able to hold 8 tubes of glue before it sank!
Now we are learning about solids, liquids and gases as part of our focus on states of matter in science.
