The Savanna class is continuing their inquiry into why people help each other in a community. To deepen our understanding, we explored how students themselves help their classmates and the reasons behind it within our school community.
サバンナクラスでは、「どうして人はコミュニティの中で助け合うのだろう？」というテーマで学びを深めています。
その一環として、子どもたちが学校生活の中でお友だちをどのように助けているのか、また「なぜ助けたいと思うのか」という気持ちについて話し合いました。この活動をより意味のあるものにするために、いくつかの段階を踏んで進めました。
To make this activity meaningful, we followed several steps:
- Together with the teacher, the students read a series of situations where help was needed.
- They formed groups and chose their partners.
- Each group selected a situation they wanted to re-enact, showing how they could provide help.
Although it was their first time trying this type of activity, the students truly enjoyed the process. They prepared their story sequence, lines, and even some props. With lots of practice, they were ready to showcase their skits to the Rainforest class.

今回のような活動は初めての経験でしたが、サバンナさん達は楽しみながら取り組むことができました。自分たちでお話の順番やセリフを準備し、小道具まで作りました。たくさん練習を重ね、レインフォレストクラスにスキットを発表する準備が整いました。
Their hard work paid off! The older students were excited and engaged during the presentations. To add a twist, we asked the Rainforest class to identify the type of help or solution each group demonstrated. They answered correctly, which showed that the skits were successfully delivered and understood.
子どもたちの頑張りがしっかり実を結びました！RFのお友達はとても真剣に見てくれていました。発表の後、各グループがどんな助け方や解決方法だったかを聞くと、RFのみんなは正しく答えることができ、スキットがしっかり伝わり理解されたことがわかって嬉しかったです。やったね！
