A Lively and Fun-Filled Week!：Savanna 10/20 ‐ 10/24

This week was full of fun! We enjoyed watching a puppet show, celebrating a birthday party, and having a lesson with Ms. Jessica.

今週は、パペットショーやお誕生日会、ジェシカ先生とのレッスンと、とても楽しい１週間でした！

🔎UOI

We worked on the worksheet “My Favorite Non-Living Things.” The children can now sort items around them into living and non-living things. As they drew pictures, we talked about why they liked those things and how they are connected to our daily lives.

At the work station, we also started recycled crafts! The children proudly shared their creations along with their growing knowledge:

“A hippo is a living thing because it eats and grows bigger!”
“A train is a non-living thing. It was made by community helpers!”

They are becoming such knowledgeable learners! By cutting hard materials slowly and carefully thinking about where to place tape to attach parts, their fine motor skills and wonderful problem-solving abilities are developing.

「My favorite non- living things」のワークシートに取り組みました。身の回りのものを生き物とそうでない物に仕分けられるようになり、なぜそれが好きなのか、どのように自分たちの生活に関わっているのかをみんなで話しながら絵を描きました。ワークステーションでは廃材クラフトがスタート！出来上がった作品を「カバはliving thingsだよ、だってご飯を食べるし、成長して大きくなる！」「電車はNon-living thingsだと思う。コミュニティーヘルパーが作ったものだから。」と、たくさんの知識と共に披露してくれるKnowledgeableな子ども達！硬い廃材はゆっくりはさみで切ったり、部品装着のためにテープを貼る位置を工夫するなど、指先の力や考えて組み立てる力もどんどんと育っています。

🖊Phonics/Writing

We learned the “-ug” sound and words that include it. The children practiced reading each word with pictures every day, saying excitedly, “I know this!” and “I can read it!”

In writing, we worked on the letter X / x. Even though some words were new to them, some children remembered “X-ray” and “xylophone,” which was very impressive!

This month, we are also focusing on holding a pencil correctly and coloring carefully. The children proudly say, “Look, I colored it neatly!” and “This is how you hold a pencil!” as they work with big smiles😊

“-ug”の読み方と、それがつく単語を学びました。イラストと一緒に1つずつ単語を覚え、毎日繰り返すことで「知ってる！」「読める！」と、前のめりになって楽しそうに読んでいます。ライティングでは「X / x」に取り組みました。なじみのない単語も多い中、レントゲン（X-ray）や木琴（xylophone）を覚えている子もいて感心しました。
また今月は、「正しく鉛筆を持つ」「丁寧に色を塗る」という点も意識して活動に取り組んでいます。
「きれいに塗れた！」「鉛筆、こうやって持つんだよね！」と得意気に話す子どもたちです😊

✂Crafts

The children carefully used scissors to cut out even the small details and completed their black cats. Next, they worked on Jack-o’-lanterns! They used their fingers to shape and press clay onto plastic bottles, then mixed their favorite paints to color them.

はさみで細かい部分まで丁寧に切って作った黒猫が完成し、次はジャック・オ・ランタン！指先の力を調整しながらペットボトルに紙粘土を貼り付け、お気に入りの絵の具を混ぜて色を塗りました。個性あふれるかわいい作品は、ハロウィンパーティでご覧いただけます。どうぞお楽しみに🎃🐾
