Firstly, a big shout-out to our July birthday girls! HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY! We had a school party with birthday crowns, a cake and we danced for Matsumoto Bon Bon out in the schoolyard.

Thank you dear parents and grandparents for coming to our Afternoon Open Day. The sweet potato pudding tasted sweeter than usual when we eat it together! The wonderful support that you have been giving Canyon really encourages us to make ISN a better community.

Another busy week in Canyon. We made an ocean right in our classroom with our lovely craftwork. We went diving in the deep blue sea with our favourite sea animals – dolphins, crabs, starfish, whales, clownfish and a seahorse. We had pet visits too – from real animals and toy animals!

Our Show and Tell sessions provide a safe platform for Canyon to express themselves. They get to choose what they like to bring from home and are therefore motivated to share. They get to practise their language skills and build their self-confidence speaking in front of the whole class. Thank you for sharing!

“It’s hot outside. It’s hot outside!” Canyon has been singing about the seasons and it sure has been a hot summer. This means water play and WATERMELONS. This summer we are grateful to generous parents who gave us big beautiful watermelon. We had ‘Suica Wari’. Blindfolded and armed with a cardboard roll, we tried to break the watermelon. Well, we finally cut the melons in the kitchen and had sweet juicy slices that afternoon! Till next week, have a cool weekend and see you at the Matsumoto Bon Bon Festival!
