Thank you dear Parents and Grandparents for joining us on our very first Open Day! We had so much fun learning and singing together. Canyon students were delighted that their mummies and daddies could watch them dancing to Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. Mummies were in for a treat too. Canyon sang the Japanese song “oka-san… don don don” and massaged mummies’ shoulders!
キャニオンクラス初めての参観日に、たくさんの保護者の皆さまにお越しいただき、誠にありがとうございました！一緒に楽しく歌って学べた一日になりました。Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toesを、大好きなパパやママに見守られながら堂々とダンスをみんなの前で披露してくれました！Musicクラスでは”おかあさん”が飛び入り参加！肩たたきのお歌とリズム打ちに合わせてマッサージしてくれましたね❣
We made posters “This is Me” and pasted photographs of things that we liked. The class practised their scissors cutting skills under the teachers’ close supervision. We have been working on shapes – circle and triangles. We find triangles in our toys too – like the magnet shapes. Canyon has been making houses, trains and shapes with these shapes. Great imagination!

We have been balancing on one foot too! This fun body song also reminds us that we need to have a balanced lifestyle. In the IB curriculum, there is the Learner Profile which outlines 10 attributes that makes a well-rounded IB learner. Being balanced and open-minded are our focus for Canyon students this unit. In ISN, we have simplified them for our preschoolers – Balanced “I can look after myself”. Through daily class routines, students can show that they are independent with their self-help skills. They can carry out tasks like dressing up, eating well, having good sleep, playing safely, and actively participating in class activities. Below is also a link to the weather song that the class has been singing. We had a good day of cool, sunny weather and we went for a walk to look for rice fields, tadpoles and ducks! ISNでは、IB Profileをとてもシンプルにかみ砕いて考えています。例えば、Balanced（バランスの取れた人）であれば、 “I can look after myself”（自分のことは自分でする！）と、このように考えます。毎日のルーティンで、子ども絵たちは自分で出来る！という自立を目指しています。毎日の生活の中で、衣類の着脱から食事、お昼寝をする、安全に遊ぶこと、クラスの活動に意欲的に取り組むことが子どもたちのタスクとなります。以下は今週クラスで歌ったお天気のお歌などのリンクとなります。今週は涼しい天気の中、お散歩にも出かけました。近くの田んぼに行き、カモやオタマジャクシを見つけました！来週まで、素敵な週末をお過ごしください！
