INQUIRY FAIR – Rainforest July22-25

Wednesday was the much-anticipated day for the Rainforest class — Inquiry Fair! The children were full of excitement from the morning, knowing they would get to visit the Gojo campus. During the initial PR time, they confidently called out to introduce their booths with loud and enthusiastic voices. The Rainforest pose they had come up with together was adorable and brought smiles to everyone at the venue!

Many children, parents, and staff from the Gojo campus visited the three booths prepared by the Rainforest class. The children were able to share what they had learned about recycling—not only using the lines they had practiced beforehand, but also by expressing themselves in their own words. We are so proud of the confidence they showed during their presentations. Thank you to all the parents who came to the Fair and supported the event!

It’s been another hot week, but the children were able to cool off and beat the heat by having fun in the pool! During our reading lessons, they take turns reading with their friends, repeating the activity three times each session to build their reading skills. Reading at home and your words of encouragement have also been boosting their motivation and love for books. Thank you, as always, for your continued support!

Plum pucking

On Friday, as part of our unit on plants, the children went on a plum-picking trip. They were excited from the start, and the experience turned out to be full of learning and fun.

At the farm, we first listened to the farmer talk about the different fruits and vegetables they grow. When the children heard that the tastiest plums are the purple ones—not green or red—they became very curious. They started asking questions like, “Why do plums change color?” and “Why can’t we pick the green ones?”

They learned that most fruits start out green and then change color as they ripen, depending on the type of fruit. With this new knowledge, the children searched carefully for ripe, sweet-looking plums and picked them together with their teachers and volunteer parents.

They were so eager to eat the plums! Each child got to enjoy one under the shade of a tree, and the other two were carefully taken home as a little gift for thier families.

It was a special hands-on experience that helped the children understand how fruits grow—and we’re sure they’ll remember it for a long time!

Have a great weekend!
