Look at the Animals!-Waterfall July 22-25

This week we added all the creatures that can fly in the sky! They learned about birds, butterflies, bats and bees! Then we asked Waterfall- What can it do? and Where does it live? They said- Fish swim in water – Birds fly in the sky – and Elephants walk on land.

After they added even more animals to the UOI Wall they looked at the words-WATER-LAND-SKY- to practice recognizing some of the ABCs for Phonics. They practiced writing letter C and learned which animals that start with the same letter! It’s a cat!

There Are Many Different Animals, more than we can fit on our wall. So, they went to the Fossil Museum to discover lots of animals up close. Waterfall and Canyon class had fun looking at animals together. We asked Waterfall students- What animal do you like? They had a look around to see what their favorite animals looked like up close!

Later we got to see another animal up close. Waterfall shared a visit from a pet dog with Canyon! Thank you Canyon class for sharing how you take care of your pets with Waterfall class!

Sharing the Planet in this UOI means that everyone must practice being caring so that everyone can enjoy the wildlife together. Animals and plants help us so we must help them. Waterfall students are seeing the first results of taking care of the planet-the tomatoes are ready to eat! They planted seeds, watered the plants and watched them carefully. Now there are ripe red and orange tomatoes so everyone can enjoy the fruits of their labor.

They love singing “Walking in the Jungle,” and their new song “Down in the Deep Blue Sea!”
