Setting goals builds children’s confidence, motivation, and sense of purpose by providing clear targets and a roadmap for success. Goal setting also teaches them valuable life skills like perseverance, responsibility, and problem-solving, encouraging a growth mindset that helps them navigate challenges and achieve personal and academic success throughout their lives.
We welcomed the month of September with a new line of inquiry. In this last LOI for this unit, we are learning about the several ways to achieve our goals. To begin with, we defined what a goal is. Some said it’s something that they do; it’s like playing basketball and soccer, where you have to kick the ball to the goal, and like in a running race, where you have to cross the finish line. Some also shared their goals for the day, such as listening to their teachers, being a good example to their younger friends, working as a team in class, speaking clearly, being good communicators and thinkers, finishing their work for the day, speaking English all the time, and doing their best in our Sports Festival rehearsal. It’s good to know that at a very young age, our little ones know how to set their goals and do something to achieve them. Keep it up, Rainforest!

In addition to the lesson, we are now setting our everyday goals in class before we start our day and checking them before the end of the day to see if we have achieved those goals. You can watch this video too for further information about setting goals and how to achieve them.
Just one week left until the Sports Festival! The children are so excited for the opportunity to show their hard work to their families. This week, they have been doing their best while setting daily goals—whether it’s preparing crafts, practicing as emcees, or rehearsing for the relay and performances. We can’t wait to share it all with you on the big day!

Congratulations on our little thinkers for demonstrating how to solve problems and learn from their mistakes. Keep up the good work!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
