This week was our final preparation for the biggest event of the year—the Winter Show (Christmas Show)—and everyone is excited to share the results of their hard work. 今週は、ISNビッグイベントのひとつ、ウィンターショー（クリスマスショー）に向けた最後の準備の週となりました。子どもたちは、これまでの努力の成果を発表できることを楽しみにしています。
On Monday, the entire Shimauchi campus gathered in the gym for a grand rehearsal. Each year level showcased their play to their schoolmates and confidently delivered their lines in front of a large audience. Some students danced, some sang, and everyone enjoyed telling a story through performance. 月曜日には、島内キャンパス全体が体育館に集まり、合同リハーサルを行いました。各学年が自分たちの劇を発表し、大勢の観客の前で堂々とセリフを披露しました。ダンスを踊ったり、歌を歌ったりと、子どもたちは劇を通して物語を表現することを楽しんでいました。
To make the Winter Show more colorful and elegant, each class was assigned a craft to help decorate the venue. Savanna Class will be creating a Christmas tree. The whole class worked together with enthusiasm, using their creativity to design the decorations while having fun. 今年のウィンターショーをさらに華やかでカラフルなものにするために、各クラスで会場装飾のクラフトを作りました。サバンナクラスは大きなクリスマスツリーを制作。楽しみながら、創造力いっぱいに取り組みました🎄
Our inquiry into Living and Non-Living Things is now at the conclusion stage. The students are compiling the information they gathered throughout the unit. They drew their favorite living and non-living things, identified what living things need to survive, illustrated their favorite insects and their life cycles, and shared their reflections on the unit. They loved this unit—it was a piece of cake for everyone. Their conceptual understanding is clear, and UOI time is always fun for them. 「Living and Non-Living Things 生きているものとそうでないもの」の探究は、いよいよまとめの段階に入りました。子どもたちはユニットを通して集めてきた情報を整理し、自分の好きな生きているもの・生きていないものを描いたり、生き物が生きるために必要なものをまとめたり、好きな昆虫の成長過程を描いたり、ユニットの感想を共有したりしています。このユニットは子どもたちにとってとても分かりやすく、大好きな内容であり、概念理解もよく見られました。UOI の時間はいつも楽しく、意欲的に取り組んでいます。
This week, we also watched a short movie about a carrot seed. After watching, some students commented, “If the boy stopped watering the seed, it will not grow. Living things need care to grow!” They immediately grasped the idea and understood the moral of the story. 今週は「にんじんのたね」の短い動画も視聴しました。鑑賞後、ある子が「もし男の子が水をあげるのをやめたら、種は育たないよ。生きているものはお世話が必要なんだよ！」と話してくれました。子どもたちはすぐにお話のメッセージを理解したようです。
