Nagano/Nakano Campus Elementary School Summer School

ISN Nakano Campus Summer Program 2026
(For students in Grades 1–6)
— A Special Summer Where Strong English Skills Meet the Great Nature of Nagano, Shinshu —

Expand Your Child’s Potential with a Premium Summer Experience in Nagano, ISN Nagano/Nakano Campus.
The Nagano/Nakano Campus Summer Program offers an inclusion-style experience, where participants learn and spend time alongside ISN students who use English at a high level in their daily school life.
Set against the breathtaking natural backdrop of the Hokushin Five Mountains in Nagano pref., our campus becomes the gateway to a week of immersive learning—from intellectually stimulating workshops to hands-on fieldwork that engages all five senses. Every activity is conducted entirely in English. This is more than language learning; it is five days of growth, challenge, and inspiration, where children sharpen their global mindset and resilience while learning alongside highly motivated peers. In Nagano, the rich natural environment itself becomes an extension of the classroom.
From 2026, ISN Summer School enters a new phase of learning.
To provide deeper, more consistent learning experiences, we have shifted from a daily enrollment system to one-week and two-week programs. While single-day participation offered a brief taste of learning, it often limited continuity and relationship-building.
Starting this year, our updated program allows students to:
✔ Spend meaningful time with the same group of peers
✔ Engage deeply in project-based learning
✔ Experience and reflect on visible personal growth
This renewed structure ensures a richer, more connected, and more impactful summer learning experience for every child.

A Typical Day in Nagano/Nakano Campus
ISN’s Summer School is conducted entirely in English throughout the day.
In addition to developing fundamental English skills, the program offers a well-balanced mix of activities—from plenty of physical movement to focused learning sessions in specialist classrooms.
During the cooler mornings, children spend time outdoors, enjoying nature walks around the Nakano Campus or taking bus trips to nearby campsites and natural areas. As temperatures rise in the afternoon, the program shifts to indoor, hands-on learning activities.
In this program, not only children who are accustomed to living and learning in English, but also those who have had little prior exposure to English, take part in an all-English environment from morning to afternoon. Activities are wide-ranging, making full use of the rich natural surroundings of the Nakano area, as well as including learning opportunities related to themes such as the SDGs. Every day is filled with new discoveries.
So, why not set out on an ISN Nagano/Nakano Campus adventure this summer?
