Cultivating Connections For a Purposeful Life

As the vibrant colors of fall surround us, we are delighted to share the latest highlights from our classroom. We are excited to highlight our current IB Unit of Inquiry, How We Organize Ourselves. This unit invites students to explore systems and communities, focusing on how human-made structures, both within the school and the wider world, help societies function.

This month, we had the wonderful opportunity to participate in an exchange with Aida High School, and it was an experience we truly enjoyed! The exchange allowed our students to connect with their peers from Aida, sharing ideas, and perspectives in a vibrant learning environment. Both schools engaged in collaborative activities that fostered creativity and communication, while also building friendships across campuses.

Students are not only building their physical skills but also enhancing their teamwork and sportsmanship. The energy and enthusiasm in the gym are contagious, and it’s wonderful to see students of all skill levels enjoying themselves while staying active.

We had an exciting Science Fair at our school, and it was an unforgettable experience—especially with the participation of our youngest learners, the preschoolers!. Grade 6 students took stage with their incredible projects focused on biomes! Each group showcased their in-depth research and creativity by constructing detailed models and presentations that highlighted the unique characteristics of different biomes, from rainforests to deserts and tundra. They explored topics such as climate, plant and animal adaptations, and the impact of human activities on these ecosystems. The students’ hard work and enthusiasm were evident as they explained their projects to visitors, sparking meaningful discussions about the diversity of life on Earth. It was an enriching experience for both the presenters and the audience!

We had the pleasure of attending a music concert with our students, and it was an unforgettable experience! The concert was filled with vibrant performances, showcasing a wide range of musical styles and instruments that captivated the students from start to finish. It was not only an opportunity to enjoy live music but also to expose the students to different genres and cultures through the universal language of music.

Every week, we’ll be sharing a Math Joke and a Puzzle of the Week! This is a great way to bring some lightheartedness and critical thinking into our daily routine, giving students the chance to enjoy a bit of humor while also challenging their minds. The jokes will add a dash of fun to math, while the puzzles will encourage problem-solving and creative thinking.

Together, we are creating a strong, positive learning environment that helps our students thrive. Thank you for being such wonderful partners in this journey!
