What an unforgettable adventure it was for our Grade 5 students on their 2D1N trip to Hakuba! Completely student-organized, the class took charge of planning the route and activities — even renting a van for the journey, with Mr. Ranta behind the wheel, leading the way up into the mountains.

On Day 1, the students tackled the high elements course at Ex Hakuba, where they tested their limits, faced their fears, and learned the power of teamwork. From wobbly bridges to thrilling zip lines, everyone gave their best — cheering, encouraging, and supporting one another every step of the way. It was inspiring to see how they overcame challenges with courage and determination.

Day 2 brought a change of pace with a serene hike through Tsugaike Nature Park. The morning began shrouded in thick mist, making it hard to see the path ahead. But as the group pressed on, the sun slowly broke through, revealing a breathtaking view of the Hakuba mountains painted in autumn colours. The students paused to take it all in — the crisp air, the fiery leaves, and the beauty of nature all around them.

This moment became more than just a scenic view; it was a lesson in perseverance. The students realized that even when things seem unclear at first, pushing forward with patience and positivity leads to something beautiful. Through shared challenges, laughter, and reflection, the class grew closer and built memories they’ll never forget.
