Grade 6 Takes Yokohama: A Student-Led Adventure!

The Grade 6 students took learning beyond the classroom on their exciting 2D1N trip to Yokohama — a journey they completely planned themselves! From mapping out the route to choosing the attractions, students took charge, making this truly a student-centred adventure.

Their first stop: Cosmo World! Laughter and cheers filled the air as students braved thrilling rides and enjoyed the dazzling views from the giant Ferris wheel. It wasn’t just fun — it was a celebration of teamwork, independence, and shared joy.

Day two took them into the vibrant streets of Yokohama Chinatown, where students explored a world of flavours and culture. From steaming dumplings to colourful lanterns, they experienced first-hand what they’ve been learning in Unit 3: International Trade. They saw how Yokohama’s history as a port city brought in new cultural influences and economic growth — and how Chinese traditions have become part of the city’s charm and tourist appeal.

Between adventures, long train rides became moments of connection — filled with laughter, games, and conversations that strengthened friendships. By the end of the trip, students returned not just with souvenirs, but with memories, deeper understanding, and stronger bonds.

What a meaningful and memorable journey for our young explorers!
