What did you eat yesterday? “October Edition” 🍂

Hello everyone!
In this monthly blog we will take you into our classrooms and share what our students had for lunch over the past month! We look forward to sharing yummy-looking lunches with you, as well as student impressions!

Be warned, though… You may get hungry!

Week 1
This week we had a special request lunch from students from a different school! It was interesting to see what other students like. Included in this lunch were Agepan, special fried bread! One covered with chocolate and one with matcha. Chocolate was the clear winner in Gojo campus!
We also enjoyed a fresh, slightly sour salad. As a sidedish, chicken with mustard, yum!
This is what one of our student thought:
-Today’s lunch was awesome! I loved the donut bread! The chicken was great too, because… I just love chicken! I hope we get a lunch like this again. Also… Yippeeeee!

Week 2
Yum, we had a kimchi rice bowl with fresh veggies and a hearty soup on the side. Best of all, a real dessert! Milk pudding with homemade caramel sauce, a little bitter but well-received by most students!

Week 3
This week we had a special lunch, which included rice harvested in the local Shiga area. The name of this rice was “Kira Kira rice”, named after how it was grown. Students and a local committee looked for new ways to keep deer and other animals out of their ricefield. They decided to install LED lights to keep everything out. The rice was “sparkling” in the bright lights of the LEDs, hence the name “Kira Kira rice”

Thank you for reading our lunch blog this month! Hopefully, we can share some exciting and yummy lunches with you next month!
