Hello everyone!
Before this school year ends, Aurora is learning to add numbers or Addition. They can already count objects, recognize and write numbers. They also learned numbers that make 10. Now is the perfect time for them to learn Addition to 10. Since this is their first time, we are using objects to represent the numbers and we try to count all of them to get the answer (sum).

年中さんになる前に、オーロラさんは足し算を始めました！みんな物体を数えたり、数字を認識して書くこともできるようになりました👏そして足すと10になる数達も勉強し終え、足し算を学び始めるのに、今がPerfect Timing👍初めての足し算なので、初めは物を使って数字を表しそれらを数えて足し算の概念を理解します。
We had some individual activities on Addition. First we did Spotted Butterfly Addition wherein they had to put spots in the wings of the butterfly according to the number indicated below each wing. Then, they counted all the spots in both wings to get the answer for the problem below.
まずは蝶々の羽の中に片方ずつ先生に言われた数のドットをクレヨンで描きます。そして最後に自分で合計のドットの数を数えます。足し算ができました！
We are also doing one-on-one solving addition problem with the teacher. Students try to read the problem like 2+3= ____. The teacher explains the concept of adding numbers representing objects. They are doing a good job so far.
先生と一対一で算数の問題プリントを解くレッスンも始めました。生徒はみんな「2＋3＝」を自分で読みます。そして先生が足し算の概念を物の数を足して教えていきます。（人数が多いため1対1のレッスンは時間がかかってしまいますが、全員に機会があるよう数日間かけてやっています）
To review CVC words, students were gathered in a circle with CVC word cards and pictures at the center. Each student picked one word they know, matched it to the picture, and tried to read it together.
フォニックスでは引き続きCVCワードをカードと絵を使って学んでいます。今回のアクティビティは日本でいうカルタのようなアクティビティをしました。一人ずつ単語が書かれたカードを選び、その単語の絵を見つけてマッチングします。その後全員でその文字を読みます。
Who remembers Rainbow fish? We went back to one of the first book we read in Unit 1 UOI lesson. We reviewed the moral lesson of the story which is how to be caring to friends like Rainbow fish when he decided to share his shiny scales to other fish. It’s like sharing toys to friends. The more you share, the more happier you are because you get more friends in doing it.
レインボーフィッシュの物語を覚えてますか？Unit1のUOIレッスンで紹介した絵本「レインボーフィッシュ」を久しぶりに読み聞かせました。このストーリーはどうやってお友達に優しく接することができるのかを描いています。綺麗な鱗を持ったレインボーフィッシュは初めはお友達に自分の鱗をシェアするのを嫌がっていましたが、お友達がいなくなってしまい、とうとう自分の鱗を他の魚にシェアすることを決めて、たくさんのお友達と仲良くできるようになり、みんな幸せになりました、というお話です。
Students thought they are just having fun and playing at the gym, not knowing they are doing these activities to be physically active. These physical activities improve children’s coordination, balance, posture, and flexibility.
子ども達はいつもただ楽しんでいるだけだと思っているかもしれませんが、実は色々な楽しいアクティブなアクティビティを通して自分の身体能力を高めているんです。バランス、姿勢、柔軟性もしっかり鍛えられています💪
Aurora had a great time playing at the park, too. One good benefit of outdoor play is for the children to develop social skills. They learn to interact and communicate to everybody through playing. We teach them how to take turns and be caring to everyone.
公園でも充実した時間を過ごしました。公園で遊ぶと、社交性も育てることができます。お友達と交わり、交流し、順番を守ることや譲ることも学びます。
This week in writing, we finished practicing writing letters Uu, Vv, and Ww. Aurora keep saying that they are close to finish all the letters of the alphabet! It’s good to see how they are loving and enjoying writing!
今週のライティングではアルファベットのU、V、Wを練習しました。もうすぐアルファベット全部の書きの練習が終わります！こんなに毎日ライティングしているのに、オーロラさんはとても真剣で楽しみながらライティングをしています😉
