This week the weather has become very autumnal. When we went to the park, we noticed that some of the leaves are already starting to change colour!
We got some new reading books this week. Everyone really enjoyed reading them, and some people even read a whole book by themselves! The letter of the week was the letter E. We practiced writing both upper case and lower case, and we solved so many word puzzles as a team.
We continued studying our IB topic about buildings, this time thinking about what buildings help our community. Last week we visited a fire station, and this week we pretended to be fire fighters, police officers, doctors, and teachers. We made so many great pretend stories, and even made our own props for the stories. Some people loved playing pretend so much, they continued to do it in the play castle!
In maths we studied counting by 10’s. We noticed that the numbers look just like 1, 2, 3, 4, etc., but we just need to add a zero. Next week we will start counting by 5’s too.

It’s only 2 weeks until the sports festival! On Wednesday we practiced with all the other classes, and got a preview of their displays. Everyone has been trying so hard to give a great performance, and we’re really looking forward to showing all the parents what we can do.
The weather has become much more comfortable now, but the mornings can be quite chilly. Be sure to wrap up warm, and don’t catch a cold! See you next week!
