Having fun while learning helps students retain information better because the process is enjoyable and memorable.

In our UOI lesson, we incorporated playing with clay as we are learning about our LOI2: Using Body Language/Actions in expressing their feelings. Body language includes facial expressions, gestures, and posture. First, we discussed about facial expressions. Our activity was for them to create facial expressions of the emotions to be told by the teacher using modeling clay. They were able to make happy and angry faces with the clay and tried to show their own facial expressions. Everybody had fun with this activity!
UOIでは、今週からLOI2の〜体を使って自分たちの気持ちを表現する〜を学び始めました。ボディーランゲージとは、顔、手、足、体全体を使って自分の気持ちを表現することを言います。オーロラさんは、先生が指示した感情の時の顔を粘土を使って表すアクティビティをしました!みんなは、HappyとAngryの表情を粘土で上手に表す事ができ、粘土で作ったその顔の真似をすることもできました!みんなとても楽しんでアクティビティに取り組んでいました😉
We also watched and sang along with Feelings and Emotions video song which tells actions of different emotions like what do you do when you’re happy, sad, hungry, angry, and sleepy. They enjoyed imitating the actions of the monster character in the video. https://youtu.be/eMOnyPxE_w8
その他にも色々な感情を動き(アクション)やボディーランゲージを使って表す方法のビデオも観ました!幸せな時、悲しい時、お腹が空いた時、怒った時、眠たい時、みんなはどう表現するのかを話し合いました。
Aurora students were also very happy to receive beads to fill their buckets! We also had an agreement that they might lose their beads when they did or say something bad to their friends or by making their friends sad. So, if they don’t want to lose their beads they have to be very careful with their actions and words.
そして、LOI1で作った折り紙バケツにはキラキラビーズ(スパンコール)がどんどん増えていますね♪ 人をハッピーにできる言葉や行動が見られた時にもらえるスパンコール。お友達を傷つけたり悲しませる言葉や行動が見られたら、スパンコールを失います。オーロラさんみんなのバケツ、綺麗なスパンコールでいっぱいにできるといいですね😍
Since we’re already done with recognizing uppercase letters with their sounds, this week we started to have an assessment on each student’s ability to name the letters and produce the letter sounds. We might finish it until next week because it’s one on one test.
オーロラさんはアルファベットの大文字を学び終えたので、一人一人の理解力の確認アセスメントを始めました。それを終えたら小文字を学び始めます😉✌️
In math, we had a new lesson which is about Ordinal Numbers. We began reading 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th and explained to them the difference between 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 which are Cardinal Numbers.
算数では新しいレッスンを始めました。普通の1から5の数字と、順序数での1から5の違いを説明しました。みんな理解できてるかな?
