This week in Shooting Star Class was full of fun, learning, and festive excitement! Our little stars began each day with greetings and smiles. We practiced for our upcoming Christmas Show, getting ready to shine on stage with songs and performances. Wednesday’s practice was extra special because we invited Mr. Igor to watch our performance and give feedback. According to him, everybody and everything was amazing—he even gave us 97 points!
“How can we get 100 points?” we wondered. We need to remember two things: always look in front or at the audience while performing (and avoid looking at Ms. Fronie or Ms. Ayako), and show bigger movements when dancing. We’ll take note of this and aim for that perfect score on the day of the Christmas Show. Thank you so much, Mr. Igor!
今週のシューティングスタークラスは、楽しさと学び、そしてクリスマスのワクワクがたくさんつまった一週間でした！ 子どもたちは毎日、元気にあいさつをして笑顔でスタートしました。
私たちはクリスマスショーに向けて練習をし、ステージで輝く準備を進めています。
特に水曜日の練習はスペシャルデーでした。Mr. Igorに私たちのパフォーマンスを見てもらい、アドバイスをしてもらいました。「みんなも劇もすべて素晴らしい！」との評価で、97点ももらいました！
「どうしたら100点になるのかな？」と子どもたちと考えてみたところ、大事なポイントは2つ。
1つ目は、パフォーマンス中は前やお客さんの方を見ること（Ms. Fronie や Ms. Ayako の方を見ないようにすること）。
2つ目は、ダンスの動きをもっと大きく見せることです。
この2つを意識して、本番ではパーフェクトを目指したいと思います。Thank you！Mr.Igor！
We also explored the outdoors—whether it was outside play, a visit to the park, or some fun in the gym, our stars loved moving, playing, and discovering together.
外でもたくさんの時間を過ごしました。外遊びや公園へのお出かけ、ジムでのアクティビティなど、どれも子どもたちのお気に入りです。
シューティングスターの子どもたちは、体を動かしたり、遊んだり、いろいろな発見をしたりすることをみんなで楽しんでいました。
In our Unit of Inquiry, we discussed living things at home. Everyone shared examples of living things they see at home. One by one, they proudly presented pictures of their pets and plants, explaining how they care for them and observing how they grow and change.
今週の探究の時間では、「家にいる生き物」について話し合いました。
子どもたちは家で育てている生き物の例をそれぞれ紹介してくれました。
一人ひとりが自分のペットや植物の写真を誇らしげに見せながら、どのようにお世話をしているのか、そしてそれらがどのように成長したり変化したりするのかを説明してくれました。
Phonics and writing were also on the menu! The children practiced reading -ot CVC words and writing lowercase letters, becoming more confident in their early literacy skills.
フォニックスとライティングの学習も行いました！
子どもたちは -ot のCVCワードの読み を練習したり、小文字の書き方 を練習したりして、初期リテラシーのスキルにますます自信をつけています。
Next week promises to be even more exciting! We will have a mini Christmas Show at school, where everyone will gather to watch each class’s performance. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the students to observe their friends’ performances and practice performing in front of a bigger audience.
We will also celebrate our December birthdays, so if it’s your birth month, make sure you don’t miss the party! 🎉
