Painting offers numerous benefits for children, fostering both their creativity and cognitive development. It enhances fine motor skills, boosts creativity, and encourages emotional expression. Additionally, painting can improve concentration, problem-solving abilities, and even contribute to a child’s self-esteem.
Shooting Star students started creating their tanabata craft as part of celebrating the star festival. During this festival, people write their wishes on colorful paper strips and hang them on bamboo branches, hoping for their dreams to come true. Shooting Star students made a star lantern by cutting out the star to be used as the head of the lantern. They dipped the white paper into the paint color of their choice to make it colorful. After drying it, they cut some straight lines to complete its tail. Next week, they will write their wish and we’ll hang them on the bamboo tree at the entrance.

Everybody had a very fun experience playing in the mud almost everyday. And for sure, they will have a different kind of fun playing in the pool set up in the schoolyard too from next week. To excite everyone, we made a toy called a plastic bottle watering can that they can use to water the vegetables they planted in the garden and also to play with it during our water play. This time, we used acrylic paint to paint their bottles. Shooting Star students painted their bottles with anything they liked. Some painted rainbow, flowers, bikes, etc.

In our gym lesson, everybody enjoyed playing with a para balloon. With their good teamwork, they were able to make a house, jelly/pudding and other things. Next Wednesday, July 2nd, is our gym open day. We are looking forward to seeing you and having fun with your children.

This coming week, we will start to explore unit 2 which is about Community Helpers and we will visit the AEON mall on Monday to observe people in various shops as our provocation activity. Recharge and enjoy your weekend!
