This week in the Shooting Star class was full of learning, fun activities, and exciting challenges! ⭐

今週のシューティングスタークラスは、学びや楽しい活動、そしてワクワクするチャレンジがたくさん詰まった一週間でした！⭐

One of the highlights of the week was our special guest speaker, Mr. Thapelo from South Africa, who is a teacher at the Gojo campus. The children were fascinated to learn about the many cultures and languages spoken in South Africa. We discovered that there are 11 different languages, and the students enjoyed practicing 11 different ways to say “hello.” Afterward, we played a fun game that connected language and culture. The children were especially excited to see the colorful traditional clothing, houses, and cars from South Africa.

今週のハイライトの一つは、特別ゲストスピーカーとして来てくれた南アフリカ出身で五常キャンパスの先生、Mr.Thapeloのお話でした。子どもたちは、南アフリカにはさまざまな文化や言語があることを知り、とても興味深そうに聞いていました。南アフリカでは11の言語が使われていることを学び、子どもたちは「こんにちは」の11通りの言い方を楽しく練習しました。その後、言語と文化を結びつけるゲームも行いました。南アフリカのカラフルな伝統衣装や家、車の写真を見ると、子どもたちは特に嬉しそうでした。

In class, we also drew celebrations in Japan and around the world. Each student chose one celebration from Japan and one from another country, drew a picture, and wrote about why people celebrate it and how it is celebrated. It was great to see that many of them could still remember what we learned in this unit.

クラスでは、日本や世界のさまざまなお祝いについて絵を描く活動も行いました。それぞれの生徒が日本のお祝いを一つ、そして他の国のお祝いを一つ選び、絵を描いて「なぜそのお祝いをするのか」「どのようにお祝いするのか」を書きました。このユニットで学んだことを多くの子どもたちが覚えていて、とても嬉しく思いました。

Another big moment this week was our final swimming lesson of the year. The students worked hard in the pool and practiced using kickboards. They were proud of themselves as they learned to float while supporting themselves with their hands. Everyone showed great effort and confidence in the water!

また今週は、今年度最後のスイミングレッスンもありました。子どもたちはプールの中で一生懸命練習し、キックボード（ビート板）を使う練習をしました。手で体を支えながら浮くことができるようになり、自分たちの成長をとても誇らしく感じていました。みんな水の中で自信を持って、よく頑張りました！

This week we also had a fire drill at school. The students practiced how to stay safe during an emergency and reviewed the important rules to remember: “O-Ha-Shi-Mo-Te.” This reminds us not to push, not to run, not to talk, not to go back, and cover your mouth. The students did a great job following the instructions and staying calm during the drill.

さらに今週は火災を想定した避難訓練も行いました。緊急時に安全に行動する方法を練習し、大切な合言葉「お・は・し・も・て」を確認しました。これは、押さない・走らない・しゃべらない・戻らない・手で口を覆うという意味です。子どもたちは先生の指示をよく聞き、落ち着いて訓練に参加することができました。

On Thursday morning, Shooting Star and Aurora students walked together to the park. They enjoyed spending time on the playground, helping each other on the equipment and showing kindness like big brothers and big sisters.

木曜日の朝には、オーロラクラスのお友達と一緒に公園へ行きました。遊具で遊びながらお互いに助け合い、まるでお兄さん・お姉さんのように優しく接する姿が見られました。

Next week, we are also looking forward to celebrating our March birthday party together! 🎉

It has been a wonderful week in the Shooting Star class. The students worked hard, supported one another, and continued to grow in confidence. We are proud of their effort and look forward to another exciting week of learning and fun! 🌟
