Hi everyone! Welcome to our second blog of the month. As the blog title says, our main focus this week was practicing for the Christmas show. During reflection time, the students shared that their goal and purpose for practicing hard was to make their loved ones proud. We had a “mini Christmas show” in the middle of the week, where all the classes gathered together and watched their peers perform their plays. Milky Way was amazed by how hard the other classes had been working to prepare for the big day. This gave them a little extra motivation to do their best in the last practice sessions they have left.

皆さん、こんにちは！今月2回目のブログへようこそ。ブログのタイトル通り、今週はクリスマスショーの練習が中心でした。振り返りの時間には、子どもたちが一生懸命練習する目標と目的は、大切な人に誇らしい気持ちになってほしいと話していました。週の半ばには「ミニクリスマスショー」を開催し、全クラスが集まり、仲間の劇を鑑賞しました。ミルキーウェイは、他のクラスがこの日のためにどれほど一生懸命準備してきたかに驚きました。この経験が、残りの最後の練習を頑張ろうというモチベーションにつながったようです。

This week, we reviewed the “sh” blend that was introduced several weeks ago. There are many words that contain this blend, so mastering how to read them will help make future reading lessons more meaningful and enjoyable.

今週は、数週間前に紹介した「sh」の連結語を復習しました。この連結語を含む単語はたくさんあるので、読み方をマスターすれば、今後のリーディングレッスンがより有意義で楽しいものになると思います。

This week’s gym lesson was the last one for 2025. Classes will resume next year. Until now, the gym teacher has been teaching the students how to do somersaults on the gym mats. In the next lesson, they will begin learning how to jump rope.

今週の体育のレッスンは2025年度最後のレッスンとなりました。授業は来年再開されます。これまで体育講師は子どもたちに体育マットの上で前転と後転のやり方を教えてきました。そしてこの1ヶ月側転の練習もしていました。次回のレッスンでは、子どもたちは大縄とびを再び始めます。

A few weeks ago, the students started sharing more about the less common Learner Profiles. They used to choose caring and principled most often, but their sharing has become more diverse. It’s great to witness them grow in their understanding of the Learner Profiles.

数週間前から、子どもたちはあまり今まで選んでいなかった学習者像について、共有し始めました。以前は「思いやりのある人」と「信念を持つ人」を最も多く選んでいましたが、共有する内容はより多様化しています。子どもたちが学習者像への理解を深めていく様子を見るのは、本当に素晴らしく、誇らしいことです。

The Inquirer showed great curiosity when he asked how high airplanes fly in the sky. The Reflective student was able to look back on her past actions and improve. The Communicators were able to share their ideas with others. The Principled learner did the right thing when she was faced with a dilemma that made her pause and think about right and wrong. The Balanced student took care of herself physically and emotionally by eating well, moving her body, and getting enough rest.

「探究する人」の子どもたちは、クラスメイトの一人が「飛行機がどれくらい高く飛ぶのか」と質問した際に、強い好奇心を示しました。「振り返りができる人」の子どもたちは、過去の行動を振り返り、改善することができました。「コミュニケーションができる人」の子どもたちは、自分の考えを他の人と共有することができました。「信念を持つ人」の子どもたちは、立ち止まって善悪について考える場面に直面した際に、正しい行動をとりました。「バランスのとれた人」の子どもたちは、しっかりとした食事、体を動かすこと、十分な休息を取ることで、心身ともに健康に気を配りました。

For show and tell , we enjoyed listening to a presentation about a craft made with recyclable materials.

ショー・アンド・テルでは、リサイクル可能な材料で作られた工芸品についてのプレゼンテーションを聞きながら楽しみました。

~The week ahead~

The influenza outbreak over the past few weeks disrupted our schedule a bit, so some students are still working on their dioramas. We plan to hear their presentations as soon as they finish. It goes without saying that every last ounce of our energy will be directed toward preparing for the much-awaited Christmas show. As the graduating class of the school, we are committed to making our parents proud as they watch us perform our very last Christmas play as kindergarteners!

〜来週の予定〜

ここ数週間のインフルエンザの流行により、予定していたレッスン内容に多少の遅れが出てしまい、まだジオラマ制作に取り組んでいる子どももいます。完成次第、発表をしてもらう予定です。もちろん、私たちは待ちに待ったクリスマス劇の準備に全力を注ぎます。私たちは、保育園生として最後のクリスマス劇を保護者の皆様にご覧いただき、誇りに思っていただけるよう、精一杯頑張りたいと思います！
