Hi everyone! This week’s highlight was the park play date we had with Aurora class and Shooting star class. The three classes gathered in Nanbu park and enjoyed a Nature Item Hunt in small groups. It was a great experience for everyone to grow socially by playing with students from different classes and people of various age-groups.

皆さん、こんにちは！今週のハイライトは、オーロラクラスとシューティングスタークラスとの合同パークデーでした。3クラスで一緒に南部公園に集まり、少人数グループに分かれてネーチャーアイテム拾いを楽しみました。MWの子どもたちがリーダーとなり、オーロラとシューティングスターの子どもたちをサポートし、落ち葉やどんぐりなど、秋の物をたくさん拾いました。みんなでリストに描かれた物を集めるのが楽しかったようです！様々なクラスや年齢の子どもたちと遊ぶことで、子どもたちの社会性を育む素晴らしい経験になったと思います。

The next best thing about our week was painting the school gate together as a class. There’s still half a year left until we say goodbye to preschool, but doing something special for our school that others left us feeling sentimental and somewhat emotional.This is our farewell gift to Minami campus.We hope everyone who passes by these gates will have their mood uplifted by the bright and warm colors！🎀

今週の一番の思い出は、MWクラスのみんなでエントランスゲートをペイントしたことでした。どんなデザインがいいかみんなで話し合い、レインボーにしようと決めました！卒園するまでまだ半年ありますが、みんなで過ごした大切な思い出が詰まっている園のアップグレードを手伝いました。園にいるみんなのために素敵な思い出を残すことができてよかったです❤️これは南キャンパスへの送別プレゼントです。この門の前を通る皆さんが、この明るく温かみのあるレインボーでハッピーな気持ちになってくれることを願っています！🎀

Last week’s rice harvesting field trip was an educational and fun-filled one. Everyone listened to Mr.Koyama explain how to cut the rice stalks and gather them in bunches. They then went to work with the assistance from the adults who were there. This experience helped them appreciate just how hard farmers work to put rice on consumers’ tables. They learnt that after the rice is removed from the nodes by a special machine, the remaining stems are left to dry and then used as manure for the next planting season!

先週の稲刈り体験は、学びと楽しさに溢れた体験でした。Mr. Koyamaが稲の穂を束ねて刈る方法を説明するのを真剣に聞きました。その後、大人の方々のサポートを受けながら、実際に「稲刈り」を体験しました。「白いお米が食べたくなっちゃった〜」「あ〜〜疲れる〜！」「大変だよ〜〜！」「でも楽しいね！」と言う声が始終聞こえてきたのが微笑ましかったです。この体験を通して、農家の方々が消費者の食卓に米を届けるためにどれほどの苦労をしているのかを理解することができました。Mr. Koyamaは、刈られた稲が次はどのようになるのかも説明してくれました。干して乾燥させた後に機械で脱穀をして米を売りに出します。そして専用の機械で稲を節から外した後、残った穂は乾燥させ、次の田植えの肥料として使われることを学びました。

~The week ahead~

Next week most of our time will be dedicated to getting acquainted with unit 3’s new topic of inquiry. We will do a variety of activities that will check the students’ background knowledge regarding the topic. The autumn bus trip also awaits us ,so we pray for good weather and hope to enjoy ourselves to the maximum as it will be our last bus trip as preschoolers.

来週は、ユニット3の新しい探究テーマが始まります。この新しいテーマに関するみんなの事前知識を確認するための様々なアクティビティを行います。秋のバス遠足も控えています。天気が良いことを祈りながら、保育園児として過ごす最後のバス遠足を思い切り楽しみたいと思っています。天気に恵まれ、良い思い出ができますように❤️
