Hello everyone!
This week has been a week of extreme temperature fluctuations, but our children still managed to get their bodies moving. They worked hard at stretching and hopping in the gym and enjoyed playing tag and sandboxing in the playground. Exercise dance is also popular in the classroom. Watching them, I feel that their play has become more diverse and complex. Even with the same movements and play equipment, our children make it more fun by discussing and improvising with their friends. They don’t just work alone but also cooperate with their friends. They seem to be using their bodies and their minds (thinking), experiencing joy and a sense of accomplishment. They are moving their bodies and minds with their own power.

On March 3rd, we introduced the Hinamatsuri festival in short English sentences. It is an event to pray for the growth and happiness of girls and is also called the Peach Festival. On the wall outside the classroom, many Hina dolls made for this day are displayed. Please stop and take a look when you drop off or pick up your children.

Many of the Rainbow children have graduated from diapers and are now able to go to the bathroom. On rainy days, we discussed how to use the bathroom properly and how to wash our hands. This month’s class topic is “Oposit” so we worked together to think about the concepts using oposit as “clean vs. dirty,” “good vs. bad,” and “yes vs. no.” First, the teachers acted out good and bad examples using photos, and then the children demonstrated the correct way to do things in front of everyone. Since then, they have been making a conscious effort to do so in real situations. Well done!

March has arrived, and with just under a month left, our children will be moving up to the next grade. For us homeroom teachers, each day is filled with fond memories and deep emotions. Children who could only express their feelings through crying now express them through words. Shy children have transformed into hard workers. Not only have children become able to do things for themselves, but some are also considerate of their friends and eager to help them. This week, the classroom was filled with lively singing and laughter. It makes us happy and proud to see the friendships and bonds that have been steadily built over the course of a year.

Have a good weekend.
