Hello wonderful parents and friends,
Welcome to another fun-filled week in Aurora. Last week’s experience on climbing up the play castle made them more challenged and they were thrilled to go up on their own strength. They developed confidence after they succeeded and reached on the top. They have reflected that they will have their turn to climb up if they stay and wait in the line.
こんにちは！今週も楽しいこといっぱいの1週間でした！先週初めてプレイキャッスルに登って自信のついたオーロラさんたちは、今度は自分の力だけで登ってみようとドキドキしていました。そして実際に頂上まで登ると、さらに自信に満ち溢れていました😊列に並んで待っていれば、自分の番が回ってくるということも身についてきたようです。
Cutting and creating: Building fine motor skills
It was an exciting day! We used scissors for the very first time! With curious hands and excitement, our little learners explored the world of cutting. First, we explained to them how to use the scissors safely. We practiced using child-safe scissors, learning how to hold them properly. Each student received a strip of paper with bold straight lines drawn across it. Some kids were a bit cautious, while others snip snip snip and carefully followed the lines. After cutting, we made pizza using those papers they cut as pizza toppings. They imagined of the the pizza they ate before and said yellow paper is cheese, pink is ham, green is broccolli, and brown is ham. Some kids say orange is carrot! They had a blast making their favorite pizza.
この日は初めてハサミを使って工作をしました！好奇心旺盛な子どもたちは、ワクワクしながらハサミの世界を探検しました。まずはハサミの安全な使い方を説明。正しい持ち方を学んだら、今度は太い直線が引かれた紙を選びました。少し慎重な子もいれば、チョキチョキチョキと慎重に線に沿って切る子もいました。切った後は、その紙をトッピングにして、ピザを作りました🍕前に食べたことのあるピザを思いだしながら、黄色い紙はチーズ、ピンクはハム、緑はブロッコリー、茶色もハムと言っていました😊オレンジはニンジンという子もいました☆子どもたちは思い思いにピザ作りを楽しみました🎶
Watering the flowers
Last week we planted flowers in the garden. Students felt good about something they did by themselves. Daytime is getting hotter and flowers need water to live. Our young learners have to water the flowers they planted. They draw in their plastic bottles and we punced holes to make a shower. They were delighted seeing the fowers blooming and we are looking for more flowers to grow.
先週、園庭の花壇にお花を植えたオーロラさん達。自分たちの手で花壇を作ったことに喜びを感じている様子でした。日中は暑くなり、お花が元気に生きるためにはお水が必要です。そこで子ども達は、ペットボトルに絵を描き、オリジナルのじょうろを作りました✨大喜びでお花に水をあげてお世話をしてくれています😊
Students engaging actively in hands-on learning / work stations everyday
We Introduced the Alphabet C and the words that start with it. We did the activity, find the C pictures and stuck on the wall. We also make it a habit to trace the letter C every morning when they enter the classroom. Practice makes perfect! Well done, Aurora!
アルファベットのCとCから始まる単語を紹介しました。Cの絵を見つけて壁に貼るアクティビティもしました。また、朝の時間などに、壁に貼ったCの字をなぞることを習慣にしています。練習あるのみです！オーロラさん、頑張ったね！
We will have Aurora class’ Open day on Monday. We look forward for the parents participation. Please come and observe how your kids have grown up.
